Finally!

The Rasmus line by Suhr is now becoming available to the public. Just saw this on eBay: https://cgi.ebay.com/Rasmus-Suhr-M100-Ro ... 3cb3be0f8b (they also have one with a black finish on there) I believe this to be an excellent buy for anyone not able to (or not willing to) pay the higher premium prices for the Suhr equivalent. I don't know of an imported model that seems to have such attention to detail as these Rasmus' seem to have. I heard that part of the delay getting them out to the public was because Suhr was inspecting them so thoroughly that they'd send them back upon finding anything remotely not up to the standard they were looking for. With having a new foreign manufacturing plant, it seems as though there was a conditioning process....in order for them to get on the same page as to what Suhr was expecting from them. What makes these imported models so great, is that they are all shipped to the Suhr Plant (USA) where they undergo their final assembly and inspection as well as being Plek'd and set up by Suhr master builders before being shipped from the Suhr factory. They even come equipped with much of the same hardware that is found on their regular Suhr models.

Here are the specs:

This M100 features the following specifications:

- Suhr Modern body-style
- North American Alder body
- Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard
- Modern Elliptical neck profile (.730 - .830)
- 16'' fretboard radius
- 1.650'' nut width
- 24 Jumbo frets (same German-made fretwire used on Suhr guitars, although not stainless)
- Gotoh 510 trem w/Solid Saddles
- Locking tuners
- JST SSH+ humbucker in the bridge
- JST FL single coil in the middle
- JST SSV humbucker in the neck
- 5 way switch
- Volume and Tone controls
- Deluxe padded gig bag

I'm a big fan of Suhr guitars and love gear as much as most people on here. So, I thought it'd be cool to post this info for anyone not aware of them. Seems like a good buy to me!

those things look cheap to me going by the pics. i would think you could get a carvin like that thing for not much more than 1K and way less used

I thought it looked alright to me, but understand that everyone has their own perspective. I do agree that you could also get a nice quality Carvin for relatively the same price. I've got 2 Carvins myself! Although, in one area I think you get a better deal with the Rasmus, is for getting the Suhr pickups and the Gotoh 510 trem, in comparison to the Carvin equivalent. I just simply think it's also a great alternate buy to a Carvin or other guitar in it's price range. Afterall, the Rasmus' foundation is built purely on the poplular Suhr Modern (and Standard), which if you like, is a cool alternative. Naturally, it won't be for everyone.

If you can find one of these, IMHO it competes with the 3k Suhr Moderns. I bought one for $400 years ago and tonewise it smoked a $2400 Suhr Standard i had. All those guitars need is a good setup. Normally they go for around $700, which is about the most I'd pay for something with a Floyd.

^ yeah that Ibanez is killer for the price. I love the RGA 321/121 and they can be had for pennies compared to a Suhr.

:D

No offense to anyone's taste in a good guitar, but it sure feels good to own a guitar that everyone compairs their's to. Looking forward to seeing what John and crew have in store for the Andy Wood Modern.

The RG3120 is the one of the best Ibanez has ever produced. I prefer it with the Lo Pro myself.

Might I throw in the fact, too, that I have an ESP FR-II and an ESP NT-II and they are pure velvet to play, are impeccably made (considering their heritage), and feel like true quality both in hand, tone and playability.

Great, great guitars... And I'm a Lester guy through and through!!

V.

I'm curious about color options, hoping there is more than just the few I've seen in pics...none of those have really grabbed me as sexy (though I suppose bland is always better than over the top).

My under $1K (well, maybe under $1300 if you want fancy woods) solution is a Warmoth. Get everything exactly as you want it.. Body, wood, binding, color, finish, routs, trem, controls, neck, frets, radius, binding, finish, tuners, nut, inlays, etc..

when will they be available for purchase?

Well, these two on eBay are the first I've seen sold by a dealer. So, the first batch are apparently just getting here. You should see more dealers getting them in by the beginning of next year.

Well, here are the available color options for each "Modern" model:

M100: Black Metallic, Candy Apple Red, Root Beer Metallic

M200: Black Metallic, Candy Apple Red Metallic, Charcoal Frost Metallic

While I agree, some of them look rather bland....Suhr obviously wanted to keep the colors down to a minimum. Here is the price sheet that explains all colors and options on the Rasmus line: http://rasmusguitars.com/Rasmus_10_Pric ... nsumer.pdf
