Back when I first saw Chater-La's name lit up in Admin Red, I told a friend and fellow member that it would lead to the end of this sites usefulness. As i'm sure many of you have already witnessed lately, useful info and serious discussion have been on the decline. Look for things to get much worse.
If you didn't like the old boss, wait until you get a full dose of the new one. R.I.P. RigTalk.

I guess we'll have to stop wasting time on forums and actually play guitar then. How tragic.

No doubt about that. Everyone should spend more time on their instrument than they do the computer keyboard. That being said, much can be learned gear and playing wise from intelligent conversations on the subject, but you already knew that, because like myself , you are here.
I'm not big on forums, but when I find one that has many members that know their shit, I bookmark it, and use it as an information source when I need to, or just browse for the hell of it. Now we have a non player at the helm, and I don't see many many useful posts. At least not as many as I used to.
I realize admission is free, I just think it is a shame is all. BORDAS MEDIA purchased another site that I was a big fan of, and it didn't take a hot second before it became a dumbed down shell of its former self.
We'll see……..

What is the correlation between ownership and post quality... I'm not tracking?

What possible interest, besides financial, would a non player have in posting links to gear reviews? (Links that lead to another site owned by Bordas)https://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=117113
I'm sure that the Kemper is a fine bit of gear, but a review by a person that can actually play guitar, and isn't being paid to pimp it, would be much more useful.

Oh a kemper thread... well that figures- Ive never looked at one! Zero interest in modelers etc..

Umm, that thread is from almost 3 years ago and is posted in the correct forum, Amplifier reviews..... What's the problem again?

Sounds like a the OP has some kinda personal axe to grind. I find these "forum is going to shit" bitch threads quite funny.... don't like the forum then go then go somewhere else that floats your boat. Simple.

yeah.

Whatever. Rig Talk is still the best forum I can find for the most part.

I have never seen a Chaater-La post or had any communications with the person.

I am pretty sure they were a mod when I joined like 5 years ago and while a few people may have left since then...A few more have joined and it is still the same place to me.

Chaater-La has been a mod for years. This thread is worthless.

This site is still useful....I posted a pro/con thread and got a bunch of responses. There are members here that I wouldn't hesitate to PM/text to ask them something as I've done it in the past with great success. As far as serious discussion, it comes and goes....just like anything else.

Do you ALWAYS talk in the same tone and about the same subjects with your friends? Me neither.

If it dies, it dies. My life is not going to end just because RT does, and neither should yours...besides, there are plenty of places to talk gear....Talkbass, TGP, GAB, SSO, MLP, HugeRacks etc.... Play your guitar; don't worry about the place where you TALK about playing your guitar.

Where's Bob Savage to chime in?
I'll sub for him... "Burp!" :D

You're selling Bob's insight far to short. He would have said "I have something really important to add"

Love this forum! Lots of great people here. Bought and sold items here with great success.

Some great threads and info to be found.
