I think the Cameron partnership was as impossible for these guys as it was for anyone else who tried it. I think everyone who laid money down with those guys was made whole eventually so I don't think he is known for ripping people off. I know Mark Cameron still owes some amps out there, but from the Brad era deposits, I think everyone is good.

For the record, I haven't said one negative thing to Brad, or about Brad since joining this forum. Also never said anywhere that he had anything to do with the decline of this site. His ability as a player was not as important as the fact that he was an owner with an interest in the subject matter that gets discussed on this BBS.
Many men get way bent out of shape, when instead of actually reading a post, they skim it, latch on to the first negative comment they see, then form an opinion about what the OP is really trying to say. Those same men will vehemently defend the honor of their sacred BBS, all the while preaching to you about how forums aren't that important, and you should just play your guitar more. (Wow, thanks for the insight)
Will Bordas fuck the site up, and turn it into something that most everyone in this thread won't care for? That remains to be seen. I fail to see how discussing the potential for that to happen is a bad thing. Will that be the end of the world as we know it? Not for me it won't, YMMV. In my world a guitar forum is, and always will be, 4-5 guys sitting in a semi circle around a bong, passing a guitar around while slowing down albums on a turn table to learn songs, which much like having a high post count, lends absolutely zero credibility to anything I post on line in a public forum.

I think Telephant hit the nail on the head. The ex-owner of this site screwed people over here while many people sat by, watching it happen. That is why many people left this site, have nothing good to say about it and frequent other sites. Part of what makes an internet forum successful is bit of self-moderation....and trust. At most musicians' websites, regulars feel very comfortable buying and selling with each other sight unseen. When the very owner of the board is (allegedly) ripping people off, that doesn't reflect well on the forum as a whole, no? And I know many of the guys that still post here, used to post at old HCAF and know exactly what I'm talking about.

THAT is why many choose to bag on certain aspects of this board. Every time someone brought up something about the shady shit that was going down here, the thread got nuked, instantly. I still think there are some who come here and have no idea of some of the crap that has happened here. Yeah, BK may not have done anything to me personally...but there are plenty of documented cases of his shady business dealings directly with members of this board, that have been squashed from public view. I, and many others, know better than to have any dealings with those type of folks because we read the whole sad situation firsthand.

The fact that this site is no longer in BK's hands is a good start IMO.
