I bought a Friedman Brown Eye recently. I will say its the closest VH tone I've ever had for my non VH fingers! :rock: Actually it does everything well.

I just love the Brown Eye, its sound is so VH... and it can accept pedals in front really well
 
Wow, I'm amazed at how close my setting on my 50w through EVH 4x12 are to Ed's settings. I use a bit more mids, a bit less highs and bit more presence. Whatever the case, I still flat out love my 50w. Never before have I owned a high gain amp that I absolutely didn't need an OD pedal in front of to tighten it up and add some punch. The EVH on ch3 is the first amp I've come across that I can just plug into and play and I'm still floored by that after all this time with it. Sold off nearly all my other amps and have zero amp GAS thanks to it.

V30's in the Mesa and the G12H Greenbacks in the EVH. They sound nothing alike. If you play 2 different heads on the same cab sometimes it won't sound as drastic a change as the same head on 2 different cabs.
 
I have the luxury of being the only guitar player in my band. So I dial my amp a bit darker. My usual settings are Gain- 2, Bass- 2, Mids-11, Highs- 12 with the Presence at around 11. I've been known to roll the highs back to 11 as well if the soundman has the amp too bight in the FOH. I'm not trying to sound like a bass player, just want a nice balance tone.



I think my normal settings cut through the mix just fine. ;)
 
keep in mind that you have just one guitar in the band my friend... the sound cuts just fine but i have to admit that i wouldn't expect something less form a les paula and an evh
