The Fender Professional II HSS Strat Slays!!

I have had an up and down relationship with Fender Stratocasters since I was a teenager. I've had multiple variations over the years from just single coils, hot-rodded, etc. They are a workhorse and always dug them bit never completely fell over thr top in love with them other than 1989 in San Angelo Texas, when I played a Big Apple Stratocaster in an old Mom and Pop store.

I gave my Stepson my used Clapton Signature Strat as a graduation present and didn't think I missed having one...until I watched the Andy Timmons Halo Keeley pedal video. I realized I didn't have that twang and hey, a Strat is a Strat and nothing like it.

Yesterday I got my Fender Stratocaster Professional II in, Miami Blue, and just looks and sounds amazing!! I am in love with Strats again. The humbucker is so good that for the first time, I don't want to replace it. I was doing metal easily thru my 5150-III and sounded awesome!!! The Treble is super usable!!! I love it down at 5 and still cuts thru but adds something. The single coils kickass too. Everything sounds more "balanced" and smooth. There isn't a piercing tone or two twangy, etc. Just sounds awesome.

Any of you that are on the fence with Strats, you should give this a spin. I've played my whole life and have Les Paul's, a Chubtone, Wolfgang, etc. and this guitar is going to be a favorite. Exactly what I wanted, a guitar that does all of the tones I want. The pics don't do the color justice btw.

Very nice. Definitely my favorite color. I have been gassing for one of those since they came out. How is the balance between the humbucker and the neck pick up? I had an American deluxe Strat, where the hum bucker significantly over powered the neck pick up. I didn’t love the hum bucker or the guitar. However, a normal American standard strat is my favorite guitar. Love it. Don’t need another one, but the Miami blue is freaking awesome

Oh yeah, seems to me to have a better balance than the older Strats. I've never cared for the stock humbucker in a Strat but really dig this one.

I forgot to mention too, pretty cool that when you hit the tone tap it turns either the bridge and neck pickups on or in second position, all three pickups together.

Thanks! Yeah it is crazy, the mint pick guard with the blue and rosewood just work so well together. It's funny because I always thought I was a maple board person with Strats but I think I like the Rosewood more.

There are a couple of blue ones used locally. I need to play one. I would like to have a blue one, a black one, and the dark night. Sigh. Glad you are digging it!

Man, I love the look of that strat! Good to hear that the humbucker works well for hard rock/metal too. Been having my eyes on that one and the Mercury color. Had a chance to try one recently at a nearby music store and was really impressed. It was very comfortable and super easy to play. Currently waiting to see if Sweetwater will get a lighter weight one. Currently all the Miami Blue and Mercury American Professionals are at or close to 8lbs.
