So true. There's only so much volume, gain and low end Greenbacks can take. Thats why I love the 65s, pretty much the same GB midrange character only they can take alot more abuse ! Thats also what I don't like about any Wizard amp I've had, after 2 (not o'clock) on the volume, they pretty much lose the tightness & definition in a big way.

I dont think the new Wizards are like that Gary.[/quote]

Allright, guys.... a little off here, but How would you guys compare these 65's to G12H's? Gary keeps telling me these are the cat's ass speakers. I hate him spending my money! ;)

You're gonna hate me a bit more because the 65's are one of my favorite speakers ;)
If you like Greenbacks you should dig the 65's bigtime. Hell I like them better then greenies ;)

I haven't heard the new re-issue 65's in person but I heard that they are killer (although they are priced way to high!! If you have someone who could hook you up, I suggest you do so!!)

65's are much better than H30's. H30's have a big hole in the upper midrange response, more bass and treble than the 65's. i can see why H30's were used as bass speakers.

If you like a GB voiced speaker, you'll probably like the 65's. Ive tried both the Heritage and old ones....they sound the same to me. I can also see why the 65's were upgraded over time to be the 75's. 65's are a bit light in the bass and rolled off on the highs, but pretty balanced overall.

More like downgraded to 75s   The 65s aren't the champions of low end, but they've got much more than a GB.

And I should get the heritage reissues not the older originals?

Heritage period. Get two & combine them with your G12H30s. You'll love it

What I mean with the 75's......I can see where guys with 65's would have been looking for more bottom and sharper more defined top before the 75's were developed....

I know what you mean. At that time players already had a choice for more bottom & sharper, defined top in the G12-80. That speaker is literally a 65 with a (50 oz) large magnet. Old Anthrax tones are a good example of G12-80s.
