I think I’ll try to keep it around a little longer if I can even though I certainly don’t need it. I do need to get rid of some things to cover some vet bills for my cat though.

Just got done playing my JSX and VTM60 for a bit in my unfinished cabin. The JSX is killer. I picked it up a maybe a year or year and a half ago because I was curious and had never played one. I set the rhythm channel to pretty much sound like my VTM boosted with a DS-1 only no boost needed. The lead channel can get damn brutal too even straight in. The VTM is my go to amp and I am particularly fond of single channel 50 watt heads, but damn it’s a killer amp.

Come to think of it my JSX (the way I dial it in) reminds me a hell of a lot of the EVH 6L6 regular 50 watter with a more neutral sounding clean and maybe not as compressed lead channel compared to the EVH red channel. Certainly with a much more useable sweep on the gain pot.

As always playing through two Peavey 412’s loaded with Sheffield 1290’s.

My old guitar player used one. I think it sounded pretty good.

Was playing mine last night. Killer amp for a cheap used amp. Got mine for 400 bucks. EL34s. The amber channel gets killer 80s tone
Yeah, when I play it I am on the amber channel 99% of the time and just turn on the red channel for a couple of things. Same experience I had with my old 6L6 50 watt EVH. 99% if time I was on the blue channel.

I worked on one of these for a friend a few years ago ..... the amp surprised the hell out of me .... almost pulled the trigger a few times when I've seen them on GC ..... the prices have gone up actually a bit on them ... from what I've noticed .

they do have that weird BIAS thing where the bias points on the back don't read accurately but if you're using a Bias Probe it doesn't matter anyway .

I picked up a JSX Combo a few years ago as a one-and-done gigging amp I could just throw in a wheeled travel case and leave on the trailer, and it's great. I converted it to EL34s and swapped in Vintage 30 speakers, and it just roars. The upper mids of the V30s counter the darker voicing of the overdrive channels perfectly. It's f'ing heavy though, and LOUD.

I'm probably stuck with it for life though, lol. I'd take bath on it if I tried to sell it locally, and there's no way I'd mess with shipping a 2x12 tube combo.

The JSX is just fantastic honestly way better than the Invective.

Cheers and enjoy *_*

I gigged with one of these for years and I absolutely loved it. It didn’t matter if I was in a band that did heavier stuff or singer, songwriter acoustic, driven stuff, this amp fit perfect in all applications. I love it.

Back then I couldn't afford one but loved going into shops an playing on them for a bit. Thought about getting one a time or two over the last years, but never picked one up. I did eventually scratch the JSX itch by having Jaded Faith mod an MTS module into the Crunch channel.

I had one for awhile many years ago and got rid of it pretty quickly. For whatever reason, through multiple cabs and at louder volume, it sounded so honky and mid-forward...almost like my wah was on an left in one position. At lower volumes, it was cool and very easy to play. I recall it being an early model, so maybe they had an update or something.

I have a JSX with some tweaks I did to it. At the time I had Kyle @ KSR helping me with ideas. It's actually the one amp I have kept through everything, and I've owned a TON of amps as most of us older cats on this page have :ROFLMAO: . Lean, Mean and Aggressive

I actually left the 5150 OG for the JSX years ago when I was playing them. Alot of amps from boutique to regular Joe tried to replace the OG but it was the JSX that did it. I needed something a little more all around for the band I was in at the time and it fit the bill. One thing I did though was replace those '34's almost immediately. 6L6's really beef up the JSX.

Yet another amp I wished I still had. Oddly the reason I went with the JSX was it could do the low gain thing and clean better IMO, however the heaviest guitar tone I ever recorded was with the JSX. Of all the maps I've owned that I wish I still had, two of them are Peaveys. I just like the gain structure of James Brown. Further the most compliments I've ever had on my live tone were the JSX and the JVM.

What the hell is wrong with you? You just can't say you have a JSX with some tweaks but not tell us what they are. Don't leave us hangin' bro!

I had the 2x12 combo. I was a nice amp, but it had a mid-thing going on that I just didn't like. Does anybody else hear that?

HaHa, my bad man. The gist of what was done was mainly to tighten up the low end, and make the amp a bit more open/less compressed. it has a very focused attack now. The presence and resonance controls have a greater affect on the amp really allowing for extra tone shaping. My JSX will also run 6550 tubes now. The sound to me is modded Marshall meets boosted Rectifier. it has these Snarling mids, but with a Modern Feel and attack, Punchy and in your face.

Jsx or prosonic? Or something else possibly? For my next purchase….
