I think this may convert a few Axe users. That being said , I'm getting one or the other very soon and this makes the decision even tougher. I was pretty well set on the Axe

I was going to go the toaster route when I got my tax return, now this makes things difficult. I suppose I have a month or so to decide still though.

Does it have any new features other than the poweramp option.

I am also buying a Kemper w/ tax return... I really wanted the rack, but now that I see it....I think the lunch box looks easier to transport ....either way, the TONE is there. Add in the effects of your choice to the already supplied effects and you have a giant rig, but portable

yeah, i was going to be fine with the toaster, but I possibly wanted to get a 2/90/2 to run with it, and it would be easier to have them both in a rack.

Anyone tried the EHX .44 Magnum with the Kemper? Seems like it would be ideal.

yeah, but I like the idea of a powered toaster plus a max of 2 space rack bag on my shoulder

start adding to this rack and you are getting to a 5 space plus rack quick... I want it on my shoulder like the axe fx, but i don't want an axe fx :)

question: if one buys the original kemper toaster, will it be easy to buy the power amp that fits on the back? Or will one need to buy the new powered Kemper toaster??? (I read about the power amp via the kemper forum, it's made by matrix)

Was expecting this a long time because we received a lot of sgnals from the people who spoke Christof. Also a 3U format was shared. Altough til now all were rumours. Now there is a true level playing field with the other manufacturer :-).

Will not buy this new baby before the stereo cab Out (without cab block) together with a stereo FOH Out (with cab block) is integrated and the foot controller is on the market. Then I am gonna test this baby for sure!! So there is a big chance the Ultra at last has to leave the building.

On the other hand a cheap second hand AFX2 is for the near future also possible when tweak fed-ups are ditching their modelers and go for the pofilers. It would be even better if within the next few weeks the AFX3 is announced. They are close to FW10 and we know what happend the last time when FW10 was released.

Competition between manufactures is always best for us the consumer. I am loving it

i wonder if there is any real difference between the rack and first version besides power?

Jesus, I just wake up and this is 2 pages long already.

EVH and Lynch have been using these for decades. You guys are so bhind the times,

Not even that, apparently they have an upgrade for the 'lunchbox' versions that adds a poweramp too. Only difference I see between the two at all is a lack of two modulation knobs on the rackmount. They are also selling both as new products, so I don't think there is going to be a huge sell off of the old style either.

What I see is a lot of Lunchbox guys who actually liked the design buying the light weight poweramp instead of selling them off :)

Even though I am going FRFR, I might pickup the optional poweramp for the fly out gigs. It will make them a lot easier.

For the home gigs I'll go FRFR using some powered monitors and for fly outs, I'll use a 4x12 and still go direct to the FOH.

I think Kempers marketing plan is Brilliant ;)
