LOVE me some Neil Young. His tweed Deluxe overdrive tone is glorious. I know a lot of guys here are gonna slag him, and maybe he deserves some of it for his sloppy lead playing, but that’s part of the reason I dig him. His lead style is instantly recognizable. Nobody sounds like him. Maybe nobody wants to in the lead department, but he’s got his own thing going on.

First song I ever learned. Simple, powerful, poignant. If someone were to ask me what rock is all about, I'd simply point them to this video.

when Weld came out I was just getting over years of forced listening to Neil from my dad lol. I LOVE Weld. Neil's playing is like a shitty crescent wrench from Harbor Freight - blunt, ugly, and awesome. Cortez the Killer, Powderfinger....just badass.

great analogy

Love Neil with Crazy Horse. My wife absolutely hates it. Sometimes I'll give her the double whammy and follow up Neil with some Bat Out Of Hell which she hates too.

My band has been doing a doom metal cover of this song. It's been my favorite.

I always loved his acoustic stuff the best and have seen him with Crazy Horse many times. Ironically, I saw him in the late 80's with Social Distortion and it was one of the loudest shows I remember.

I'm the opposite. His electric stuff is singularly unique. "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" is a must-have for anyone with an ear. CSN&Y on the other hand... yeah, I love it. I don't think Neal Young got along with Stills, so...
