It is good to see Jerry get the recognition he deserves.
Man, he did a marshall for me that has so much going on in choices,
I was stumped at first when I got it.
Then I just stepped back and then spent several hours at different times,
trying alot of different things and I am still amazed at what I get from this amp.
I got so much to choose from with this amp Jerry did,
that I am scared to post a out right NAD thread on it,
because I am not sure I can do mine justice with the thread.
Glad to see you end up with what you deserve. You ran through a ton of amps to get here.
Might as well be counting the gold pieces if you spend the time and money buying the rainbow.

Yes....went up and down AMP MOUNTAIN....
This is the 3rd FJA amp I have had.
The 1st one Made for me!
Had a Modded JCM 800....(Best Marshall I HAVE EVER HEARD!!)
Had the FJA Modded Recto....would of "been the one" but it was 50 watts and I wanted 100 watter...
then was talking with Jerry about a solution...ended up with this 5150 120 watt Metal mod.....and I couldnt be HAPPIER!!!

I got the low gain channel with one of the stages of gain disengaged set up,
so I can run it clean and then step on a Majik box Body blow II pedal,
to give me a killer over drive sound. Imagine that.
I got a modded amp with extra gain stages and like extra choices on using the gain stages,
in a lot of different ways, yet I like the amp set up like I posted above..
Total spoilage due to Jerry's abilities to mod eh ?

Still have to do that to mine. Im still loving the parts of the Cameron/Psycho mods I have in my 5150. The CLips of your amp sound amazing

Dan... you got me hooked thats for sure. I would have put in for the same mod around the time you had sent yours in, but instead opted to go for a NATAS... seems like I have a decision to make though, should I mod the old 5150 blockletter or just get a 6505, or a 6505+??? Decisions, decisions... and I cant pick one.

Mostly Im thinking about a 6505, just because it already has all the same stuff for Jerry to work on... as did yours when you sent it in. Do you think a 6505+ could be even more brutal, or is it just a matter of different value resistors here and there that make the differences between the 6505 and the 6505+? That is my only question... I will probably run this by Jerry.

It'd be interesting if all these great amp mod guys would successfully come out with their own amp line, like Cameron, Fortin, Dave Friedman and Surreal Amps try to do (and non-custom Egnater is doing). It would be nicer for us players if we wouldn't have to bother with first obtaining a plain Marshall, 5150 or Mesa and then sending it in to have it modded and improved. Clearly guys like FJA have an ear for tone that current Marshall and co seem to miss or somehow seem to be unable to bring to market.

Holy CRAP!


Lets just say....we did EVERY TYPE of Music GENRE out there.....and this amp SLAUGHTERED it ALL!!


I am not putting this "mildly" at all.....
I been thru LITERALLY DOZENS of amps thru my place.
Some great....some not so good......
This amp can do it all.....with ease!!
If you guys know....I am not a fanboi to any amp or any company.
I like a little from each amp but they are yet to do what I want OVERALL...


Jerry .....FJA....." FUCKING JERRY APPROVED" has done this in this MOD!!!
If you guys dont know what FJA stand for.....yes...its Fucking Jerry Approved!!.....
My Drummer is more picky then I am in TONE....and he gives it a DOUBLE THUMB UP!!
Jerry put alot of work in this one.....More then the ORDINARY METAL MOD...
Super CRISP and SUPER ARTICULATE ..........its INSANE!
I had several 'stock' 5150 s.......and this is like a HYBRID.
Takes all the BROOTAL that the 5150 has...then CLEANS up the Fizz and adds low end and takes out the ICE PICKY highs....

I ran this amp UP AND DOWN the flag pole today....
going out of my way to get every Genere of Music...and this amp passed with FLYING COLORS!!!
Its by far my FAVE out of EVERYTHING I owned and yes..........I owned or heard them all.
From the BRUTAL...(thanks Jerry!!) To the classic rock.....
cleans?? What the hell are they?? But yes it does a good clean...
This amp CUTS like no other I have had.
I called it ......My SMASHING MACHINE.....
Yeah........Call it....THE MAILMAN METAL MOD!!

You guys want an amp that will FUCKING DESTROY for under $2000 ????
Get this one....you wont be sorry.
