Hype is cyclical. Same rave up, different product.....

Examples - Marshall JVM, VHT Sig-X, new Cameron amps, now the Axe-Fx.

had one...returned it...didnt trip my trigger.

I think for DI or low volume tones its useful...but once you've experienced the pant-flapping beauty and majesty of a 100 watt tube amp cranked way up thru a 4x12, you're spoiled and there is just nothing from the digital realm that can compete with that for tone.

Exactly. I guess I've gotten cynical over the years....

I'm not planning on getting one. I don't think this thing has topped the Powerball as far as hype. I remember a few years back on HCAF every other thread was about the PB and it's BREWTAL gain.

I'm officially not interested in owning one. I'd love to play with one and check it out, but there's no way I could justify the cost unless I was much more into the production or live playing side of music.

Yeah but it cant do leads....

I'd like to try one, but the Tonelab LE that I have is dialed in how I like it and it feels good enough when playing it to keep me from wanting to drop that kind of money on another modeler.

I'd like to see it in a floorboard type design one day (like the Tonelab LE). It's more practical to gig with for me...a simple grab and go all in one floorboard thingy.

i have no interest coz i can't be fukt programing one :D

No gas here. What I have heard sounded very good and I can see the benefits. If I ever get one, it would probably be more for the fx than an amp. More power to the ones that love them.

Honestly, i'm not a much of a tone snob at all so it doesn't appeal to me. I just like something loud, mean and raw sounding. Not into those pretty/smooth/hi-fi tones most tone snobs are after.

Have you tried the Axe-FX through a tube Poweramp thru a 4x12 Cranked? I have and it rips!!

Don't get me wrong, i fully know that not everyone is going to dig the thing but I was just wondering if you tried it when you had it!!!

Don't want one, would rather have a nice head, cab, mic, interface and recording setup

I admit that I would be interested in trying one, but the hype is so unbearable it makes me want to avoid one, knowing what happened with the JVMs and Camerons of this world.

No AxeFX GAS here. I have yet to here a clip tone that rocks my world. Would be cool to try and it probally sounds better than my current setup but I am holdng out for a Cameron head or modded Marshall.

Mike
