The real reason no-one wants US beef

What's good today Thumbpicker? Is it winter on the less syrupy side of the pancake yet? Playing lots of Chet lately?

Old Timer - mate I'm 56...

It's very very wet here for weeks on end. Terrible weather. Bad flooding in certain areas too - especially on the Central NSW Coast. I haven't been playing quite as much as usual - hadn't touched it for two months. I've been depressed about my tinnitus and hearing loss. I played a song recently again after not touching it for two months and my fingers were soft. because I got a guitar refinished under warranty and wanted to see if it played ok. There was no beef in this particlular sukiyaki.

That's a nice version mate. I've always loved that song. Some tricky picking in there filled it out nice.
 
I prefer bison over beef. Honestly I barely eat meat these days at all.
 
Btw @Thumbpicker there is still plenty of grass fed beef here if you want it. My godfather runs a smaller cattle ranch I could put in for a half a cow I just ain't got the dough up front or the space to freeze it all. But yeah, if you are buying meat at Aldi or Wal-Mart a lot of that stuff is crap.

In another thread today TP said he voted for the Libs (I think he did anyway). Here in Oz it means the opposite of what it means in the States, politically at least. Here, they're the mainstream-conservative party.

Yes I'm not a Liberal as an American would understand it. I'm a Christian Conservative in mainstream political lingo. Also in terms of the coalition, I'd lean more towards the National Party than the Liberal Party as they currently stand since the split since Susan Ley is more centrist than the National Party. You'd know what that means Monkey Man.

Not at all. I'm just not a US Republican. I'm somewhere between the Australian Liberal/National party (Australia's conservative party) and the One Nation Party (Australia's Ultra Rightwing Party in most people's estimation). So more right wing than our conservative party. If someone disagrees with Trump's leftwing trade protectionism it doesn't make them what you'd called a "lib". If you were not a lib you'd agree with free trade and free market forces.

.gov screwed us when they removed the requirements regarding packaging and country of origin. At that point it all started to taste as universal as the stuff they sell as fruit these days.
Luckily around here...cows are still out in the fields.
 
I do venison in place of beef whenever possible.. it all depends on how good my hunting season goes.
Luckily in CT (otherwise a hell hole) we get 4 months for bow season, and an additional month in Jan for 2 zones along the shoreline. Since it's just me & my wife, 3 deer a year is my goal, though I usually take just 2. May up that this year, as we may add venison scraps to the dogs meals.

Took a moose in 2019 and it fed us for 2 years. Wish I could do Elk, Moose or Bison on the regular too.
 
Buy some Mexican beef, or chinese beef.
