Yeah try messing with your diet too, cut out inflammatory foods.

Not sure there's any scientific evidence that a certain diet can lower inflammation
But anyway, an "anti-inflammatory diet" is basically a healthy diet, containing all major food groups and cutting out most saturated fats and simple carbs, so it can't hurt anybody

Yeah im not sure there is any evidence either. When i first start having back problems a relative told me to just 'try it' for a week or two and it worked well so now I kinda stick with it.

Also OP, make a log of your daily pain levels. Make sure you show it to your neuro/ortho/gp. They will be super impressed and take you a lot more seriously. It can also help you figure out if a treatment is actually working.

Low inflammation is low carb, and try cutting gluten. Cod liver oil can help with joints as well. Bigger a thing is that you need a good source of healthy fats. Your body needs fats for your joints, and ligaments. Also it is trams fats from vegetable oils, and margerine that you really need to avoid. Coconut oil, and ghee are great for high temps, and frying. Olive oil is great for on salads, and low temp cooking. Too high of a temp, and olive oil will start to oxidize.

I eat a lot of olive oil..unfortunately, I also cook with it at higher temperatures doh! Love that stuff! I make up for it by eating a lot of raw olives but there you run into problems with sodium/salt content too. YA just can't win. I've started doing this daily for my back and hope it will help over time.
Depends on your injury of course but this was right up my alley with a disc issue. It's tough and I'm only doing 10-15 a day right now + stretching but hey it all adds up. I refuse to live life with the onset of this pain from doing something like painting or light sanding. For me i've noticed anything where my arms are extended feels like it pulls something apart in my lower back and inflammation sets in. So starting with this and then simple hands raised at 45 away from my body. I think the key is prob treat the pain, lower the inflammation, stretch, and try to build the core around the injury. You need to if you want to avoid surgery. Just doing nothing won't help. Back injuries suck!
