Picked up some CDs today:
Acid Bath - Paegan Terrorism Tactics
Weedeater - Jason the Dragon
CoC - Blind and Deliverance

How is the new Weedeater CD? I haven't picked that one up yet.

I'm really digging it so far. Already on my third listen through. Has a couple interesting tracks on there. One of 'em Dixie wrote and recorded completely at home on a lap guitar while messed up on pain meds after the foot incident

Was listening to Candlemass on my way home from work last night and I realized something. These guys may well have gotten the best metal guitar tones ever. Not to mention their riffs remain some of the best in metal.

The quiet verse is taken straight from Black Sabbath, but listen to the riff after that! Heavy as hell itself! I've been listening to these guys for a while, but they still impress me.

Candlemass is the shit.

Quick lil test clip I did of the Pharaoh direct with a V30 impulse

don't know if this is "doom" or what this is

That is funeral doom

Ahab to be exact.

All this talk of whales makes me want to go listen to Mastodon. I hear new Mastodon is leaning more towards old Mastodon (Leviathan era) and they are trying to be more riff-based. I liked both eras of Mastodon, but they had some pretty hefty riffs on Leviathan. If Mastodon sounded a little more like YOB, they'd be my favorite band. Instead, there's YOB.

Thanks for posting this. I'll have to check it out later on the stereo. I still can't get enough of Candlemass and their corny-looking (but heavy kick-arse sounding) music video clip!

Haha!

Up at work I came across this lump of quartz and swear I could hear Seabeast playing in the distance... ;)

Despite some of my rants about Mastodon lately, I really do like them over a lot of other newer bands. I also really like the guitar tones on Leviathan, more crunchy rather than fuzzy as like on Crack the Skye. And the outro of Seabeast is heavy as fuck!

Love me some doom!!

Don't know if you guys have heard of another of the bands I'm playing in called Sorcerer. It's one of those old swedish doom legend bands that has been resurrected. Now it features Kristian Niemann(Therion) as well as original singer (Anders Engberg) and bassist Johnny Hagel(Tiamat), and little me :D

Here's a live video from Germany:

Very cool Ola! I think you win award for "most awesome forum member"
