heh..yeah that sounds like a major personal problem  For a bunch of reasons I was needing to reduce the overall footprint of my current setup, while not willing to give up much in the way of sonic footprint reduction - I think I've found the answer here:

ASTAiken3.jpg

The Swart Atomic Space Tone coming in at a whopping 20 watts, and the Aiken Intruder (a beast at 30 watts) running through a Pure Sixty Four ported 1x12. I'm pretty much blown away at the tone and percieved audio size of the Pure Sixty Four cab - unreal actually...the Swart is something I discovered awhile ago and knew I would revisit. The whole setup is actually a shade narrower than a standard 4x12 cab and less than 27" tall. I've still got my Bogner OS 2x12 and my mini Marshall 2061cx cab stored away, but its pretty mind blowing the tones that are sitting right there without a wall of amps. They will never in this World replace a 100 watt head through a 4x12 for girth, but I guarantee in the quality of tone dept. this little rig has just a handful of peers.

Anybody curious about the Swarts needs to check out heir website and Greg V's clips of the AST:

Super stoked on guitars and music, this is a smile inducing rig for the ages

You know how you've been really succesfull with badgering me into turning over my paypal info when you wanted something ? (  ) Turns out that waving a crapload of cash in my face in person has the same effect ;)

There will be others...that amp was / is a freaking BEAST, seriously needed to buy a UA just to be able to use it round' here... FWIW - as I've maintained, the Aiken is a mini Concorde in all respects. After the guy picked his jaw up off the floor and got out his wallet, he asked about the Aiken..I got it out, plugged it in and played about ten seconds before instantly feeling better. I could see the wheels turning in his head and quickly shut it down and put it away before he could change his mind and hit me up on the Aiken. Right here, right now, this is the perfect rig for me. I'm hangin on to the UA as I have no doubt that another 100 watter is in the cards. J - Dub can't hang onto them forever

Hey Velcro,

You've been on forum boards for lots of years now, right?

Way back in the day (I suspect when you first started on the forums) you were playing a Fly guitar with a ZenTera?

I had a ZenTera for a while and thats why I think I remember you having one...

Why'd you dump it, and how many different amps have you gone through since then?

Todd

Man that Aiken has to be a record for you bro, how long have you had it?

everything has a price, there will be others.............. ;)

I would love to try one of those Swarts. I need some tweed in my life...

heh, actually the Swart has a stellar tube driven vibrato and tube reverb, thats about as effected as I get. I'm always open to dabble though. The Swart as a whole has a really unique voice - again, check out the Greg V clips.

Digiscott - yeah man, the Aiken is some kind of record, a few years actually. Testament to its ability to unleash the fjooking fjury or something like that. Just an awesome amp.

Hey Todd -

I'm not guilty of any of the above   The ZenTera is one of the few amps I've not owned, but I've been through a pretty stupid embarrasing # of amps...
