Think I'm done with Wharehouse Veteran 30s

I put a quad of Veteran 30s in my Bogner cab a little over a year ago. These aren't bad speakers by any stretch, and I don't want to mislead anyone. I just want to share my experience. They were awesome right out of the box as they weren't as spikey in the highs/high-mids as V30s can be. I bought an Avatar 2x12 about 7 months ago, and now that the Celestions are broken in, the Avatar 2x12 completely cuts through and dominates the 4x12. Looks like I'm going back to Celestion and never looking back.

Yeah, I plan on trying them next time around. I have a box with the Hellatone 30's and V30's in an X. The hellatones are very noticable. I like them alot.

As far as I know both the Veteran 30 and Retro 30 are designed after the Vintage 30. The Veteran is softer and darker while the Retro brings back some of the lost high end and stays very tight in the low end and has very fast attack. Compared to the Vin30 the Vet has a bit less of the mid spike and the Retro has even less than the Vet.

I did like the Veteran, but got rid of them as soon as I tried the Retro 30s. I recently bought some Vin30s again on a whim just to see the difference. I compared them side by side with Retro 30s and IMO the Vin30s are softer, looser (more loose?), muddier, and less defined.
