Im not sure if the this is the right place to post this but Im thinking about getting rid of most of my gear. Im just not playing anymore and its getting hard to justify sitting on all that gear while starting a new business.

On the potential chopping block is a block letter 5150, rev G dual, HRG Mark III, Fender quad reverb (twin) Mesa OS 4x12, soldano 4x12 and an ESP E-II 7 string baritone with evertune.

My real question is price, i kinda have a general idea of what the prices of each thing should be I don't wanna fire sell anything because I don't NEED to sell anything but i don't wanna be insulting to potential buyers by asking astronomical prices.

What do yall think about pricing on these things?

5150 would be about $1600
Rev g $1500
Mark III $1600
fender quad $900
mesa 4x12 $400
soldano 4x12 $400
ESP $2200

Your prices seem fair, but my advice: don't dump everything. Keep the Mark III at least and just put it away. Your future self will thank you.
i think you're right about the Mark, the prices on those things are up and down always but seem to be trending upward. Why'd you pick that one to keep?

Yup!!! I got rid of my Mark IV back in 2012 and kick myself everyday.

Might also be worth hanging on to the rev g
Im kinda board with the rev G ive had about 10 of them. What i really want is a chrome chassis rev F. Im even willing to pay a good amount for one just like the $3500 people are trying to get for them now a days.

I get doing it to start a business man, I DO.

BUT, if there’s even a 1% chance you’re going to want to play again, like ever….don’t sell. I’ve done this twice and lost a bunch of shit in a fire once and it’s taken me years to get back to where I want to be. In two years time that Mark will be twice what you sold it for.

If you don’t have to sell, just keep it all.

Spring is usually the best time to sell, usually starting around March. With Covid things could be different in 2022, but what from what I have seen recently is some are dumping some gear to pay holiday bills, which is pretty common in December. If you can wait, I would pretend to sell what you are thinking, then decide if you miss it in late February and if not, then list way. By pretend to sell, put it in a closet, put a blanket over it, whatever, just see if you even thing about it or go to use it.

Take some time my friend figure out what you want to keep. The worst thing you can do is regret getting rid of something that you can't get back. Think about it and figure out what you want to do. I wish you luck I've been there.

Screw everyone telling you to keep the mark III… they are morons.. the amp is garbage… on a real note, Pm Me and I’ll send you 1600 today for the mark 3… true story… no I’m serious , PM me. I’ll buy it.

The money is slowly burning a hole in my pocket… I still don’t have a PM yet…

In all seriousness I ( and I’m sure many others like japetus above ) will buy it , but it’s definitely not an amp I’m dying to own. But if you feel the need, lemme know!

I'm not currently in the market.

Is it because the black album was really done with a mark III and everyone knows I’m right and now wants one? back off… this is my prize

I honestly believe you. I hear certain things in that album that remind of a mark III, now, after ive heard you say it.

That being said, I don't really love that tone, and I don't like marks all that much lol. Someday I might get a SYN1 and a 2CP module or a myasnikov preamp, if I absolutely have to have a mark tone for something.

Like christian grey, my tastes are.......unconventional.

Even so, i think youre right, and it was a mark III, so eventually prices on these are going to climb.

Wait to sell anything until tax return season; and dont sell your mark III. You'll regret it. The prices for all marks are just going up and up and up.

+1

Hang onto that mark III. They’re getting valuable. You’d sell it in less than 24 hours at that listed price.

The rest you can move and easily replace in the future with a bit of waiting or searching.
