Thinking about picking up a preamp....

If your looking for thrash tones I'd recommend a Langner DCP-1 . Simple to operate and killer sounding and not something you see every day. I do know where you can get one tho.....

Titan preamp thats been in the classifieds for almost a year.

Have I really had that Titan pre FS for that long? It would suit thrash great, but the red channel you may find a bit much for that purpose without an external EQ.

If you wanted a Mak4, I would say wait until he gets done with his 2-space version. I cannot imagine it is that far away.

I dunno, I have not followed Mako in a while. If it is, then I need to add it to my "Preamps to get" list.

Played a ADA MP-1 for years and really loved it. Pretty cheap these days I would imagine.
Lot of kick ass classic tones in that thing.

Nah still waiting on two space and dorado preamp pedal as well. Impatiently I might add.

Peavey Rockmaster. It's the most slept on preamp and can be found for cheap. Sounds exactly like my Dual Rectifier!

I have / dig:

Engl E530 (part of my Engl half stack with an E850 100/100 - love this rig!)
TriAxis (core tone engine in my main rig, with G-System and Torpedo C.A.B.)
JMP-1 (paired with a JFX-1, not used much these days)
MP-2 (with noise mod. big ADA user back in the day; had several MP-1 and MP-2; I prefer the MP-2; PITA to program though)

I also had a Tech21 PSA 1.1 which I liked, should not have sold
