Thinking of having my Marshall modded: Voodoo or M.Golub?

I'm thinking about having my Metro/Marshall plexi hot rodded and Martin Golub and Voodoo are the two mods I'm looking at.
I think I am leaning more towards the Voodoo right now because of the faster turn around time and the fact that I like his clips of the HG mod.
I was just curious if anyone had any experience with a Voodoo modded plexi or a Golub modded plexi?

Can't say much about Martin G, but I've owned a lot of amps modded by Trace. (JMP-1 Preamp, his Hex design, his Witchdoctor design, a modded JCM800, his V-Plex design, his V-rock design, his ADA MP-1 Mods, a modded 5150, a modded DSL, etc) and all of trace's mods sounded amazing. That V-Plex was killer sounding!!!! What he did to my old JCM800 (wish i still had it!!) was just utter beauty. I've had him do the Mercury Magnetics mods to a DSL and a 5150, and they were VERY WELL worth it for sure!

Good to hear positive results

i know most will say don't do it since it has already been modded by George Metropoulos, but i need some gain on the actual amp. :(
I miss my higher gain heads and I don't feel like buying more amps.

I've done tons of business with Trace over the years. Just call him up and tell him what you are looking for, and he will steer you in the right direction. He is one of the most honest guys I've ever dealt with and one of the very few people I trust to mod my amps. (At the same level of trust I have for Jeff Hilligan and Bruce Egnater of Egnater amps).

Another person to consider would be Dave Freidman. Super cool guy, and on the forum

Would you say you're able to still get a stock sound out of one of Trace's mods?

Depends on what you want. Trace is accomodating to YOUR needs. It'd be best to just call him and tell him what you want. He can add mods that can be switchable (not foot switchable typically) to add / remove gain...tighten things up...etc. Depending on what you want / need, he'll do you right. I'd call him though...tell him what you have, what tones you want, etc. Tell him Eric Williams told ya to call! Trace and I go way back. I have never been displeased with ANYTHING he sold me / modded for me / etc.
