Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but 2023 is when it becomes a federal law for all people to follow the $600 rule for goods and services sales and not just certain locations/states. You’ll be marked a sole proprietor by the government so just be cognizant of paying income taxes on any profits and how to fill out a schedule C/schedule SE form. I sold my metroplex earlier this year and barely broke even after taxes, fees, etc. but will have to follow through with claiming the small net income since an auto generated 1099k is involved. I have no intention of skating taxes and it’s not the money that bothers me, just all of the extra bullshit I have to keep up with now.
Just a heads up that not only is the market garbage currently for offloading a lot of stuff, but tax laws are going to make selling personal hobby items a total bitch from this point on because we get labeled as a small business if you make a single dime and then have to go down the road of collecting paperwork to be able to schedule other costs so you don’t get your ass handed to you. This is because you’re taxed at whatever bracket you’re in with your full time job, not what bracket your “business” is since you’re not an LLC.
