The Vulture came out almost a decade after the V-Blade.

I know the Ibanez was way before the Vulture. So ESP/LTD copied Ibanez with no backlash from Ibanez?

It's actually much simpler:

Look at them.

The Dean and the Ibanez are both symmetrical Vs with the same wing shape. The cease and desist was valid. The Vulture does not have the same wing cut, and is not symmetrical. They reworked it to not have to fight Dean for that shape.

The real question is this:

Why didn't Ibanez do that?

You're making a unique signature guitar for the guitarist of an "it" band riding video game fame at the time. Tweak the fucking design. The Iceman with the same specs was not popular, but if they tweaked the V-Blade and kept it, it would have probably been the metal guitar of the decade.

Instead, they let Dean win. Ugh.
