Oh, and btw, this is what many more teenagers are listening to...

Why do older people care, music changes. If it didn't we'd still be listening to Elvis and learning how to waltz.

Because when all you guys go out and play your cover gigs the DJ's are taking all the spots, or a lot of them. I hate that shit but tons of the younger generation love that crap.

Apparently these guys are huge right now as well. Sounds like another Coldplay to me. :gay: 35 million views.

Dubstep just sounds like a rehash of '80s Techno. Not sure what all the fuss, or hype, is about.

that first tune sounds 99% the same as the dance music that people listened to when i was in high school in the early 90s, and same as then most kids lap that shit up because they want to go out to clubs with their friends and take pills, but there are always kids who like real music too. I remember all the kids at my high school driving to raves and clubs in the middle of nowhere and they would ask me what i was doing instead and i would be going to see Slayer, Pantera, Machine Head, Megadeth :D

Dammit.. Just fired up the Rihanna song and my 22 year old (Male, just thought I'd throw that out there) co-worker drops it like it's hot.

"Turn it UP!!"

Haha. Whatever flips their skirts, I guess.

At my son's rock band camp this summer, neither he nor I could believe how many Rush fans there are in the teen set. Hearing 13 year olds go on in conversation about Villa Strangiato and Trees. So there is hope. Still all guys of course.

While one of my all time biggest influences plays I don't know what in her backing band.

No shit!!

I'm not overly familiar with Nuno and only knew she had a guitarist because of this forum- I don't hear so much as a pick scrape. :dunno:

I'm 18 and I post on this forum... I obviously don't fit the mold haha. Been on a huge AiC and RUSH kick lately.

Excellent! There is hope for the future!

It's trance type music with a beat that hits your chest. Designed to make people dance and move and party. Add to that booze, mary jane, and ecstacy for young people just getting into substances with raging hormones and there is your recipe for popularity. It gets kids layed i suppose.

My sister is 20 and is way into this, sort of pop/house crossover.

My daughter likes Alice in Chains, more the Dirt era. She went to Bon Jovi with the wife and I. She wanted to go to Metallica with us but could not swing it.

I hate rap and can't listen to Cookie Monster vocals for any longer than it takes to press Stop.
I think you trained her

I like that as well. Especially with the mute button on.

My 19 year old son is into bands like Falling In Reverse. My 7 year old daughter likes Selena Gomez. Who cares. They both have to sit in my truck and listen to everything from Willie Nelson to Opeth when they ride with me. :)

My son is 22 now but he jumped on board the "Crazy Train" when he was about 13 or 14.
Here he is at 18 after I had given him a few years of lessons (I'm a proud poppa :D ):
