Thoughts on a 1984 kramer reissue

I recently read a review of these guitars and the guy reviewing it was comparing it to a charvel EVH art series guitar. The only difference in his and the reissue is he had an actual 1984 kramer and not a reissue which I figure the only real difference is that the original has a schaller floyd where the reissue probably has a knock off .
Anyway in the review he claimed the kramer was just as good a guitar as the Charvel.Said it played as well the construction was as good and he actually liked the pup in the Kramer better.
I know that its all subjective to what the reviewer likes so I though I would get you guys opinions on the Kramer.

Are you talking about the $699 jobbies? I've read mixed feelings, but, they seem "workable" for the price.

I think they are cool AF looking and would also like to hear some opinions of the crowd here, if possible.

Some of the reviews I've read about the RI is....cheaply made, shitty wiring and pups and construction. I've never touched one though so...

They're supposed to have a Seymour Duncan?

I have an 83 usa kramer pacer that I got for about 500 usd. Best superstrat I ve ever played. Wizard neck. Maybe you could get one of the old ones...

I have an early (Music Yo period) Kramer 1984 model, an original Holy Grail "No Bozos" Baretta, and both MIA and MIJ Charvel So Cals, as well as an early Charvel EVH Art Series. To me, the pecking order is : MIA SoCal, MIJ SoCal, No Bozo, Art Series, Music Yo.

Here I am playing one around 1991. My guitar teacher bought it when the three bosses from Kramer were personally visiting each dealer in NJ to pitch it before they were for sale. They let him have it for $500, which was real money back then. Love this guitar.

Mine's the cream color, same as the ad guitar, but it's not mint. Someone put a Bill Lawrence double creme L500XL pickup in it and a mini toggle for series/parallel. I got it at a GC local to me back in the early 2000s for like 500-600 bucks. Great neck on it.

Anybody know for sure what the stock pickup would be ? Is it a Duncan or Schaller ? I'd like to put mine back to stock...

They were assembled in the USA.

I've owned both the music yo and a more recent one..about a year ago.

First I will say that hands down, the music yo was far superior. An actual German floyd, locking nut drilled through back of headstock, higher quality wood, neck and a gibson pickup..forget the number, but was awesome.

I remember paying 649.00 back in 07. I had the all white with chrome hardware. Should never have sold it...

Now the one from more recent, white with black stripes, I immediately noticed a difference in feel, quality.
As a matter of fact, I had to return the first one because the Korean floyd series 1000, kept squealing so bad no matter what I did, new springs etc. And no, the cheaper alloy on the reissue 1000 series is no where near as a German real steel floyd, and that joke of a block that it comes with....

Other than the tremolo, I just never cared for the quality, it always felt like a cheaply made guitar imo. And the yo era had stock sperzel tuners as well. The neck was a one piece maple !! That guitar had weight to it. Really was a hidden gem imo.

I honest would try to find a yo era kramer, but when I see them on the bay, they are up to a good 1k now. Imo, they may have been one of the best bang for your buck guitars
back then.

I absolutely love my Korean-made Kramer '84 reissue. It's my favorite guitar I've ever had. Love the neck, action, pickup, and appearance. It's easy to maintain and the lack of selector switch means often that I just crank it to 10 and

I've seen that the humbucker is supposed to be a JB, but I've also seen that it's a Gibson 84T. The pickup doesn't have the SD logo, so I can't tell if it's the SD or Gibson. Regardless, the pickup is awesome.
