I liked mine alot for the 1st few weeks....
Like the Pink Floyd Presets.
Had fun with it.
Let us know how you like it.
My honeymoon was about 3 weeks with the amp.
I have had shorter Honeymoons with more expensive amps believe me!

I've had mine for about 2 weeks so looks like I have about another week. :D :D :D I'm kidding. I've had much shorter honeymoons with much more expensive amps as well.

Its not a bad amp at all.
I just had 3 other amps at the time and played them more.
Think I had a Metaltronix M1000, Egnater modded Marshall, and the Randall MTS amp as well.
There was just too many features on that amp for the little I played it so I sold it and bought a foot processor that I never used and sold that off too..........

I never hang on to gear.
I am the ultimate gear slut.........

Rock on brothers!!!

Dan

So has anyone tried recording direct via the direct out? The site says, "Provides dedicated POD® -quality tone output", but I've never been impressed with a POD.

Food for thought .they just announced and update pack avail in 2 weeks for the SV mk2 adding 28 more effects models and a computer editor ..its free

The presets are pretty much shit, but I was expecting that.

:gethim:

Sorry Bob   :D

My only issue with yours were that they were WAAAAAYtoo bassy...as were most of the others(but I think that has to do with my cabs loaded with G12K-100's)

Overall, I think this is a damn good amp with some pretty decent effects.

Not plug and play, IMHO....

I got my MKII yesterday.

Have had a chance to play through it for maybe 4 hours.

This thing sounds damn good....better than I was expecting.

Need to spend some more time with it, but I am very impressed so far.

 I think this will be a sleeper for awhile due to who makes it and the digital stigma. I played mine for few hours last night and had a blast. I think it's very cool as well. So were you able to get the metal tones you were looking for? I don't play higher gain metal so I didn't know if it would give you what you were looking for.

The thing that impressed me was the crunch tones which I find the hardest thing for digital to do well. The Class A model which is the /13 is one of the best clean tones I've heard.

It definitely does high gain well.

FWIW my favorite high gain model is the Metal Amber model. Like the High Gain Amber as well.

What models and settings are you using for your heavy tones?

That could be, because I don't like too much bass in my guitar tones. The proto used by the artists for configuring the preset banks was a 1x12 combo.

I'm sure that's it. When I hooked the 1x12 to my Bogner OS 2x12 I was backing off the bass of a lot as well.

Thats funny.......
When I owned it......
I used it for more of the Cleaner stuff.
Like the STREETS HAVE NO NAME setting or the Pink Floyd Settings.
It did sound good for a Jack of all trades...........

i had the last gen in a 1x12 format that i plugged into a 4x12 and got my favorite metal tone by going:

INSANE
AMBER MODE
Gain on ZERO
Mids NOON
Bass and Treble to taste
Presence 10-11 o'clock

i found to get my tone i have to set the treble really low, usually between off and 9:00. a friend of mine just bought the new sv head im actually going there right now to record some stuff and try it out. ill let everyone know my thoughts
