It sounds good for sure. Is this a multi watt or first gen 3 channel?

Thank you! It's a first gen 3 channel.

Thanks for the cheering guys! The amp is up on Member Classifieds now!

Awesome! That Recto thinks it's an ENGL!

this.

I've never experienced an Engl with good dynamics on the higher gain channels

Sounds great! It still has the searing Mesa sound but much more responsive! Could something like this be put on a switch so you could still have the big and fat Rawk sound if needed or is it a complete reworking of the circuit?

It's can't be put on a switch, it's 25 components that are removed from the amp along with some new circuit design for all three channels.

+1! :D

And no high gain dynamics on an Engl? Ever played the Blackmore, Savage 60 or Steve Morse sig?

Owned the ENGL E570 for some years and I'm pretty familiar with their circuitry. Too much signal going in the last gain stage which kills the dynamics if you ask me, but they have enormous amount of compression :D

Sooo... the ENGL 570 ain't those amps I mentioned. :student:
Especially the Savage 60 and Blackmore have a way more simplified circuit compared to the E570.

I have liked all of your amps very very much, but I am not feeling this at all. Sounds hollow.

Sorry to hear that! Guess the M/S mic technic gives you some phase issues, especially if you are listening in mono?
Here is the same clip with just the Tascam DR-40 mic, located about 7 feet from the cab to capture how it sounds in the room.

I just had to add that every time I browse over the title of this thread on the main page, I can't help but think how it could be misconstrued in a prison like setting :student:

Engl uses similar circuits for many models. I have just not tested or heard any Engl where you can have the gain knob maxed on the distortion channel and get a nice clean sound by just rolling back the volume on the guitar.

Okay, I'm in.

That sounds sick

This guys mods sound AMAZING!!!! Best stuff going IMPO! I don't even like most Mesa's, but this one sounds spectacular.
