What’s the difference between these two body wood types from Anderson? Tone, durability...etc.

Which do you like and why?

Basswood with maple top (Droptop), best wood combination imho. Thick, strong mids and even highs. Very versatile in HSS setup.

Yeah, I’ve been doing a bunch of online research and came to the same conclusion. I’m like soooo close to pulling the trigger on that exact setup.

Hey just wanted to throw out that if you haven't you should maybe also check out Aristides Instruments. They are wood free but made from a component called Arium which basically is an artificial material that has been engineered to be as resonant as possible. Price wise depending on your options is probably less than an Anderson also.

All basswood (like Ibanez ones) can play very smooth and warm but maple top is what adds fair amount of highs and ''complete'' sound. Anderson pickups are specific and H2-H3 are perfect for crunch and higain sounds. I also recommend all maple neck and Even Taper profile.

basswood with a maple top and maple fretboard just kills.
