Differences between the HN2+ and HN3 ?
Had an HN3+ years ago; pretty cool but a bit too smooth.

What did you go with?!?killertone":3vt38h7a said:Right on. Just ordered a Drop Top 7 with an H3/H1 set so that should be a winner.
I get why people say that but I think it has more to do with the somewhat "hi-fi" nature of Tom's pickups...they lack that ratty harshness that a lot of popular pickups (like a JB) can exhibit. You said it with "clear/defined". They can certainly do smooth and mild mannered but they morph nicely into aggressive and even brutal as you turn up the gain. My personal favorite is the H2+...fairly hot but very big sounding and dynamic.glpg80":k47fgciw said:i have played an H3 and IMHO it was one hot fucking pickup. i have no clue where you guys are getting mild mannered and smooth, that thing was very pissed off sounding and extremely clear/defined. it had more balls than anything else i own that is for sure.
I tried one HN3+ or something like that...it came right back out. Cant tell you any specifics though. I'm sure it was too hot for one.thegame":2n9hfzyg said:Anyone else have experience with their HN series pups ?
If I ever get a bolt on guitar again, it'd be an Anderson for Suhr.
