Tommy has played with the worlds best.
He's a monster behind the kit.
Thanks for posting that

amazing drummer but not really doing anything here i would consider "killing it"..pretty simple footwork pattern and hands here. He kills it on the Whitesnake stuff though! ( I drum as well)

Back in Whitesnake too! The man is 62 and can pound that shit out....

Yeah... awesome.
back with whitesnake!!! should be an awesome summer tour

Man he still got it, and looks like animal from the muppets behind that kit...

saw tommy w/ black oak, pat travers, nuggent, ozzy, whitesnake...@ 62 still the best rock drummer on the planet...

Damn good at what he does and really fun to watch. It's too bad he wasn't playing drums on the original version of "In The Still of The Night". I swear that Aynsley Dunbar had no clue what to do with the kick drum in that song. Love the song - hate the drum line. Just my opinion...

What I would do for a fro like that.

Anyway - not an overly impressive clip... Lame drumming compared to. I know what he's capable of, and that's why I say this ain't really anything special. But ya, he is a great drummer, and has been behind the kit with many greats.

Interesting that today I open the main RT thread and there's a link about Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo. I suppose next up should be Bob Daisley and Brad Gillis thread.

You read Tommy Aldridge, Rudy Sarzo, Bob Daisley and then go to Brad Gillis? That's it!!!! I'm changing my avatar back. Goodbye Doug Marks!

I've never heard Tommy referred to as "lame" before. I call that solid and not over played. The man can drive the beat and accent it in tasteful ways.

Missed the syntax. I typed "Lame compared to." which meant to infer what I've heard him see and do compared to this pretty standard beat and go, I found it less than interesting. I've been a fan of Tommy since the early 80s, I know what kind of drummer he is - this clip, IMHO - is lame.

Flame on bitches

Kidding of course, you know I loves yuz all.

Wow!?!? Drummers can be as bad as guitar players when it comes to offering up praise!!

I would say it is more about what he is NOT doing and the simplicity that makes me consider that he is "killing it". It always seems that a lot of drummers are more impressed with "more" rather than "less". (I'm a Charley Watts fan BTW)
