The Sunset is perfection in my Squier CV 70s HSS. The sound hangs with any of my much more $$$ guitars. The pickup simply works for about anything.

Just got in strings, so I'll be popping the Roxy into the Les Paul this weekend. Need to see what makes it the go-to LP pup for Jeremy and DanTravis.
Wondering what neck pup to pair it with. I have an SD Antiquity (great warmth and airiness, clarity), Godwood (bit more output and articulation), brighter ToneNerd A3 paf Scott wound when he was trying different materials more readily available in Okinawa (less character than his "Morning Wood" set built stateside, bit vanilla in comparison to the others, still has Scott's stamp).
My two go-to pickups are Roxy and Suhr Aldrich. Depends on the guitar. Most of the time, the Roxy works the best. It's leaner and has better upper mid bite, which I prefer. The Aldrich is a bit fatter, but not loose.

The Wicked 8 is better for stringier/ brighter guitars I'm finding. I do have one Les Paul that sounds better with the Wicked 8 than the Roxy. My SG also sounds better with the W8. A bit more body and low mid push.

I had a Psykes at one point but it was too fat and big sounding for me. I prefer more attack than it had. But I can see where some would like it.

I swapped an Aldrich into my 69' LPC yesterday and it screams. So you just have to try it. I'm finding more and more there is no secret combination. Pickups, string gauge, neck relief etc, etc... it's all guitar dependent and will vary. You have to find the right combo for each one.

I dunno he sent it to me forever ago, its a rough magnet? It rips. Sounds like STP
Gonna take the 80s jb out and put the SS in this hehehe

I like the Aldrich in heavy Les Pauls. Even though I make pickups, I like alol of production offerings.
