This thing sounds pretty damn good to me in demos. No point in capturing my own amp when there are thousands of cool presets out there. Pros and cons of each? Are they noisy? I seem to have issues with noise using amp through torpedo CAB M with Captor as load. I don't like the feel of playing amp sims through computer for practice, I have genome that came with my Torpedo stuff and the feel sucks. Would love to woodshed leads on the tonex right into DAW. Hell if I like it, just use that for all the lead playing and overdubs I will have to do rather than my mics and cabs next to me in small room. So the only disadvantage of the plug is that if you want something like a wah under your foot, won't really work right? Or any pedal. The pedals would have to be sims themselves where as ToneX one can physically have pedals out before the "amp". At the price point both are, I figure this is a no brainer.

Practice through headphones or while traveling: Plug
Budget and ok with messing with software on occasion: Tonex One
Budget, hate software: Tonex Brown Sound
Want to record a DI with affected tone, have all settings available, multiple preset buttons: Big ToneX

The biggest issue people have is the software, but once you get it its no big deal. I have the big one and like it for the ability to quickly adjust things on the pedal and record a DI. You can buy an active splitter and the tonex one for maybe a little cheaper to do the same thing if your interface has 2 inputs.

Having a DAW really makes the pedal worth it. If its between the 2 I'd go for the 1 because you could always buy a portable speaker to take with it.

I have both. They both sound the same. I use the One when I plug into other pedals and into a poweramp and cab, and I use the Plug when I am jamming on the couch with headphones.

I think I use the plugin on the computer more than both. It sounds great playing direct, and I have made tons of captures of my actual tube amps.

I use the Plug to play into my friends stereo while the ladies play pool and we’re drinking 🤙🏽

I’ll never load the software and I use two settings in the first two banks and call it a day.
