Ever look for that piece of gear than never seems to make it's way into your rig? I have a list myself but I'm curious what it is you've been looking for that makes your top picks for the most elusive gear you never found.

I’ll own a real burst someday. Don’t need to be a clean or super flamey one... but it’ll be a great playing and sounding one. Hopefully sooner than later.

Those aren't hard to find, this thread is about gear you constantly search for but find impossible to ever locate.

I finally scored a near-mint Starfield VPA-1 preamp a couple months ago. Literally the only one I've ever seen for sale (been looking for one for about 12 years now)

Must be rare, I never heard of that one. Post pics!

A real Jose A Marshall....I know they can be hit/miss. Almost nabbed one before I was first here in 2012...1500. But I waited too long; was trying to confirm it was the real deal. Should’ve bought it first time I saw it.
Maybe a real pre pro Charvel...but whenever I see one they want 6K or more.

Mine is a specific GMW guitar. Red flake (like Dorothy's shoes- Wiz Oz) single hum, rosewood board. Missed my chance to buy this about 15yrs ago. I still look for that guitar...

Wow that sounds nice man, good luck. So ya know I feel your pain I been looking for a Langner Brutus power amp forever, never found one FS.

You mean like this one. EDIT: shit, just noticed the neck single coil.

I've been looking for a Furman PQ-3. Finally found an 1140 and like it but have heard high praise for the Furman.

Not only the neck pu but it's not rosewood as mentioned my brother.

Afa the pq3, yeah they're dope. I've had mine for 20yrs+ Nice rack gear is hard to find these days.

Not sure why the images aren't larger, but here are a couple I snapped when I first got it. I need to record some clips with it; definitely a hot Marshall type tone. Clean/Crunch + Overdrive/Scream

UK made

Agh nice! Now that I see it I do remember these but never heard one. Mint too, thanks for posting.

The guy I bought it from in Germany also had the matching poweramp; wish I could have picked that up also but the shipping cost would have been insane

There was a time when I was hunting for a specific Kramer Baretta. (Reverse claw neck, holoflash “Baretta 1”)

That was back when I was interested in “hero” gear. That time has long since passed.

Washburn USA dime 3 dripping slime and flame job. Had clones made from a limited run of high end imports but the painter fucked them up hard. Did get a chance to fondle the originals, which only made the hard work and money spent on the painters failure more frustrating. Still mourn the loss of those projects.

Always wanted Lemmy's carved Rick and the Murder One stack.

Took me 10 years to find a 230V Soldano SM100R power amp. Still looking for a Sound Clinic S3 preamp.

I had P3 and it was better than JP6. But also played P2 which was average at best. In my case is it more about visual appeal than sound but damned ''collectors' ruined prices to unobtainium...
