So I've been using a tube screamer and it's just ok.
I want to boost the pink taco up to sound like the HBE or the JBE of possible without coloring the tone of the pink taco.

What's the best boost that could pull this off?

Koko boost or a Voodoo labs sparkle drive mod. The sparkle drive can be used as a pure clean boost or blend the signal with a tube screamer style OD.

I have been using TC Electronic Spark minis recently. I think they are pretty transparent. There may be better ones.

I just bought a TC Spark Mini - great little pedal that can add a hint of boost, to a ton of boost. Very transparent, quiet, and under $50!

This and its tiny

have them add the sat mod to it no way you could need more gain...thats if you already have the 3-way switch which for me is enough for anything imo..

I collect boost and OD pedals, so if your looking for a bit of compression than have fine diving into the rabbit hole. However if your not looking for compression than I'd highly recommend an EQ in the front. Love OD's and boosts, but sometimes don't dig the added compression (I always hear a hint of it, even dialed in as a mild boost.) With EQ's I don't get that and can tailor the frequencies.

Tried many EQ's so far the best imo- Earthquake- Tone Job.

Xotic RC Booster. More transparent than my Koko Boost and that's the reason I don't use it. I like the coloration the Koko or an EP Booster add.

I usually play at bedroom/apartment levels so with that in mind I've been using an old Seymour duncan pickup booster pedal with my PT20 and its gets me closer to JBE. Also like what bobbtoz said about an EQ helps quite a bit for fine tuning/shaping, I use an Mxr 10 band. Still praying for a mini JJ100 or Butterslax to appear one day ;)

Your best option for clean boost is Empress paraEQ. ParaEQ most be the most useful sigle pedal of the Industry! You use as a Booster, as an EQ you can completly reshape your sound or tone to whatever you like!

+1 on the Timmy. I've tried a ton of pedals to boost a gained up Friedman (Phil X, BE100, SS100, Smallbox). The Timmy was the clear winner for me. Loads of good choices out there, but if transparency is what you're after, the Timmy is a good place to start.

Couldn't agree more. The Timmy seems to really sounds like an extension of Friedman amps. You'll be able to match your current tone while adding aggression.

-depending on how much boost your wanting,. i have found things that were never intended to be boost's work the best and are far more than transparent,..... down right invisible!! i have an old BOSS CE300 SUPER CHORUS,.. it's always on,... AS A BOOST!!! oh, and the chorus isnt to shaby either,... other "things" that work great as "invisible boost's" MOOG 104 ANALOG DELAY-(i'll gladly trade the 1977 CELESTION 55HZ 16OHM BLACK BACKS for one,... i'll add $$$ if its a big briar)-a also had a GUYATRON standalone tube driven spring reverb that may have been the best "invisible boost" ive ever had..

-IMPORTANT QUESTION-your invisible, but for just 8 hours, do you A)-follow one hot chick around all day. or B)-take your chances in the ladies room??

-NEWS FLASH!!-

-or more truthfuly "FLASH BACK!!!"-

-back in the day, when racks where the thing, we used a line level, or in my case a vertikle rack mount mixer, one channel per effect, to emphasize that particular effect, not only could you taylor & tweak the tone of that channel, you could,... and would,... add volume-(result!!..gain!!!)-to it, i used an old, noisey as hell EVCO self powered 8 channel mixer-(had built in spring reverb too)-with a matching stereo EQ-(that i still have)-i'll bet today with MIDI and better quality units it would be alot quieter!!
