I put down Republican in the OP because I was simply trying to demonstrate that I switched parties in a two party system. So if I am for more freedom, less taxes, more state's rights, less regulation, etc., then that is where I put my vote. I think it is great that some of you actually vote based on the actual persons qualifications and capabilities. Who does that anymore besides Floyd eye?

I was just trying to show I am a free thinker and I don't have to be hardcore or hard line. If you OTC regs want to fight back and forth over and over again ad nauseum over the same damn topics where no one is going to change their mind then knock yourselves out

For example:

• I'm not religious
• I'm a scientist
• There are no spirits, afterlife, ghosts, whatever
• I believe in evolution
• I don't care about abortion
• I don't think people should pay taxes to fund abortion clinics
• I believe in strong borders but follow the damn rules to get in here and be a productive citizen
• I believe in other life in the universe but not recent aliens and certainly not alien abductions or pyramid building
• Everyone who is a tax paying legal citizen should have equal rights whether you are gay, trans, black, white, brown, green, mental, whatever. We can't trust Mexican cartels or China gov to be looking out for our best interest either.
• There are 2 sexes. Male and Female. You can change your parts and you can change your mind but you are still male or female (or Aphrodite)
• We shouldn't be talking to kids about how they can be whatever sex they want to be and take them to drag queen shows. Sorry.
• I believe in the Second Amendment but I feel we do need stricter gun laws for ARs/large clips. But criminals will always have guns and people will always kill other people, especially if they are mentally unstable.
• I think if you are at age to be drafted, then you should be able to buy alcohol and cigarettes. I think the whole 18 vs 21 thing is ridiculous. We should just pick an age - say 19 and then that it for all the above - including making gender changes to your body physically and mentally.
• Generally, I'm all for trying to fix the homeless problem but it is more than just building homes. People have to WANT to be self sufficient and not homeless (and in a lot of those cases - hooked on drugs).
• Most everything else can be handled by the States.

I think I wrote all of that more for me than for you. I don't 'do' other forums. OTC seemed appropriate. I may have lost a few friends with that one but hopefully I'll pick up a few more too.

I will make this quick. I used to be a Democrat. I grew up a Democrat. My parents and most of my family were Democrat. I switched parties recently (over the past 10-15 year) as I became disillusioned with what they REALLY stood for. The more research I did, the more it became clear that I have been a Republican for a long time. My Grandfather was a Republican. I'm not a Trumper and don't own a MAGA hat.. I DO believe he had the right idea and I liked the fact that he had no donors in his ear and wanted to run the country like a business

But here is one thing I also liked about the Republican creed. We take the high road. We respect all citizens. We care about the future of our Country. We are tolerant. We seek the truth. We are conservative in nature.

But we don't talk down to Democrats or call them names because then we are not at the level we should be. We are better than that. Lets carry ourselves as such. You don't have to agree. I'm just throwing that out there.
