I'm all for it.........

The only thing worse than the education and substandard education kids are getting today are the teachers....... and your going to see a lot of them laid off now or the bad ones at least I figure...... they don't do anything anyways or a poor job as results have shown over the course of the last 10 + years........

On average education has never been lower in modern times since the 70s..... it's unacceptable and someone has to be held accountable and something has to be done to get education for children back on track and the kids deserve better than the garbage and trash the teachers and system has given them.

Tenure or no tenure teachers are going to quickly find out there is a new Sheriff in town.......

And simply getting paid to do nothing, pretending they are working or not sure what but these results are pretty appalling and at the helm of Americas most poorly educated generation since the 70s or 50+ years are the teachers and the Department of Education overseeing this decline..........

Teachers useless asses are going to be spinning so fast in their chairs they won't know what hit them........

Vast majority of local schools are paid for by local property taxes. The majority of DOE spending is in student aid, which translates basically to tax payers subsidizing higher education which is worthless for 70% of people that enroll in it and goading gullible young people into taking on extremely predatory loans to benefit colleges and banks and saddle them with lifelong debt.

Yeah loans are friggin dumb. I never once asked for a loan when I went to college. Paid for books out of my pocket and Xeroxed the ones I couldn't afford. The most I got in aid or assistance was to pay for my units but never actually got money or asked for financial aid money or loans. Otherwise had to pay for my food and my housing and go to work to afford books and stuff too out of my pocket and the books cost more than classes!!!!!!

I think loans are dumb but I mean I think for some loans and financial aid or aid in general should still be a thing because they have no other means at a higher education or lets face it college is expensive. Trump thinks so as well to some degree and plans on moving that stuff to Treasury for example.

If you have the scores and whatever but dont have the money there should be an avenue for people. Me I dont advise loans but hey other people have no other choice at all, Im not well off either and I could have taken money or asked for loans but I didnt aside from aid or vouchers to help pay for some units. Still had other college expenses too aside from classes that stacked up I had to pay without assistance. Education is important but the problem is education is below average in general now. K-12 has never had lower reading or math levels since the 70s as mentioned.

Every generation since the 70s until relatively recently has been smarter than the one before decade after decade.........

If kids now are receiving a poorer education than the one I had on average or most of the older generations before them had there is a real problem IMO and at the very least children deserve a proper education and they just aren't getting that nowadays unfortunately.

Colleges continue to bloat their costs because they know they can get away with it with DOE subsidizing them and profit with their insane loans. If they aren't getting free money anymore they'll have to cut costs/tuition.

they're not teaching anything except how to be gay.
half the girls in my daughters' 7th grade class are either gay or BI.
some came out as early as the 4th grade

im my day we didn't see or hear about this until my first visit trip to Greenwich Village and i was probably 16 by then

DemocRATS are to blame for this transgender, bi-sexual, trans-sexual fad nonsense as well. They enable it instead of trying to treat it for what it is, a mental disorder.

"If you have the scores and whatever but dont have the money there should be an avenue for people."

There is, it's called a job.
Yeah but even then, even with a job or with a family for example in the middle class college is stupid expensive and assistance is needed of some kind and especially if you make lower or are from lower income. College is just stupid expensive and people need help to pay for it sometimes.

I don't see that as wasted money and I see it as an investment in that person.

Ultimately what's most important is that the trend gets reversed and children deserve a quality education again, financial aid and assistance would still be needed in any case and I don't think the financial issues are the ones to stress about here. The below level of education kids are receiving is the problem and it just can't continue anymore and the trend needs to be reversed.

I mean I don't think it's a mental disorder but hey maybe a little girl named Jill shouldn't be deciding she wants to be Jack or become a boy named Jack at age 4-5 and have it pushed on them either........ makes common sense and most parents and people in general would agree I figure.

In general I could care less about someones sexual orientation and I don't think that defines the worth of a person or their value but yeah there isn't any common sense to this and meanwhile childrens reading and maths scores are well below average and education has never been lower in modern times.

Rather than focus on politics and BS people need to focus about the basics again and that is reading, maths and science and children deserve a much better education than what they get today in that regard. Kids shouldn't be left behind like this and they deserve a real and a quality education IMO.

You keep saying "is needed, and need" as if that's gonna sway somebody, but I think what you really mean is "want".

Not normal……..

Needed/want or however you decide to describe it the point is college is stupid expensive and it's hard to afford even for those who are well off so to speak. Me personally am not and wouldn't ask for loans or financial aid money but there are people who decide they want to or they have no other option and that should still be available.

The point of getting rid of the DOE isn't to actually get rid of education, it's to create something better than before so children can get the quality education they deserve. Financial aid and such isn't the problem here as it's actually been a solution and will continue to be a solution for those who cant afford college otherwise. The problem is the low quality and levels of education and below average education kids receive now.

Kids should not be left behind receiving below average education and well that's probably the most important topic no one seems to understand about when talking about this.

The low hanging fruit is the other crap right...... thats the easy stuff and easy thing to argue about while children continue to receive a below average and poor education on average in America....... it shouldn't be like that and hasn't been like that until relatively recently and its a real failure to the youth and the younger generation IMO......

What really matters and the harder stuff is that kids receive the quality education they deserve and unfortunately that hasn't been the case for 10+ years. The trend can't continue, its unacceptable must reverse and kids in America deserve a real quality education ImO.

What % of these hi-scoring subsidies are gonna become knocked up housewives or bartenders within 5 years?

Good point and well life happens to everyone but in general if you can't afford college financial aid is there and will continue to be there.

Even Trump agreed this is important and is needed and he has the humble wisdom to recognize this.

As said the whole point is to raise the levels of education in general given the below average education kids have been receiving over the last 5-10 years. Every generation since the 70s has had a better education on average until now.

Children have been let down in the most basic needs in terms of education and it's time the trend reverses.

"Children have been let down in the most basic needs in terms of education and it's time the trend reverses."

You understand that's pablum repeated by every politician as far back as anyone can remember?
That banal thinking is how education has slipped to it's current point.

This is true but we actually have numbers and data to support this.

For example as shown here every generation since the 70s has had a better overall education than the one before until relatively recently.

Every generation before has been smarter than their predecessors until now........ and yeah the system, status quo, teachers and society have failed children and it's time the trend reverses. Kids now deserve at least as good as the generations before them or better and in that sense they have been utterly let down and failed.

It's time children receive the education they deserve again and that is the point of reforming and dismantling the DOE because it has done a rather poor job in delivering the quality education kids in America deserve.

Also a part of a reason I call todays generation Generation D-/Minus......

Due to their below average reading and maths levels/skills and overall poor levels of education on average as data and numbers show relative to other generations.
