Thanks Jeff. Something alittle different I guess. :)

Very cool tones and playing. It all sounded good but I liked the cleans the best...what gear were you using?
Thanks Bill. I updated the initial post with the info....it's all an RP1000 direct.

I was extremely "anti-pedal" for a long time. One day I accidentally turned on my TS loop in front of my TriAmp MK II channel 2B and WOW!!

Did I mention, WOW?!?!
Pedals can be a plus in front of some amps for sure.

Idk what you're talking about, sounds Brootalz to me. Sick tonz and playing my friend.

Dug the tones and REALLY dug the Playing George...

Kage

That was awesome George!! Loved it. What guitar did you use? Seriously, some killer tone and playing.

WoW! That really sounds great and I truly dig your playing man!

Thanks Gary! Nice to see you around these parts. :)

Sounds great! I'm not hearing that buzzy, direct sounding high end and the mids sound fat, like it's miked up. Well done.

Post up your settings in case I try a Digitech RP1000 one day. ;)

Being alittle bored thought I'd change a few things on my board and see how it works out. Just noodling around with different setting on the guitar and kicking in a pedal here and there. Wanted to see if things would still clean up with the gtr vol and such.

Anyway its long and monotonous and non brootal metal. :)

EDIT: Ok I'll give up the goods. This is something I can't believe sounds as good as it does. I've been looking at something like this for awhile and pulled the trigger a couple weeks ago. My pedalboard is pretty large for not having that much stuff on it and I've wanted to scale things down for awhile. Actually the 4 cable method thing sounded interesting for quite awhile. With this clip I was trying to see if there were enough dynamics and such. Its still a work in progress and may ultimately not work how I'd like, but so far pretty promising.

Sooooo....this clip is all a Digitech RP1000 direct into my console recording on two tracks in Logic. I set up a patch using the JMP MV model with one of it's cab sims/ Redline OD model/ detune chorus/echoplex model and EMT plate reverb model. Just guitar---RP1000---mixer/ Logic. So far I'm pretty surprised with the results. Not totally there with the treble response yet, but its come a long way in a week.

Using the RP as a pedalboard 4 cable sounds great! The SD1 OD1 and CE2 models are dead on when I compare them with mine.
I'm not surprised that it is a direct recording of a modeler and sounds so damn good. My Axe-FX sounds like classic EVH tone when I record the "Brown Sound" preset direct and use the redwirez IRs... Sometimes I don't see the point of micing up a real amp to record because I'm getting what I want tonewise without the effort, just using the modeler... Now live, in the room, I prefer a real amp every time over the Axe into my VHT 2/50/2 and 4x12s...

Yeah that high end is tricky. Still haven't found what i want in that respect, but I think it may be in there. The cab models seem to have the most to do with that. The ALT 412 seems best so far. The Marshall cab models kinda stink. Its kinda cool with the amp/ pedal models. Dialing them in like I normally would actually works. The parametric eq takes some work. You have to use the X Edit software to select the Q and the low freq eq freq, which is weird. And the X edit doesnt work with Mac os which is a drag. For a unit that has been out since 09 they should have that together!

I wish this unit could load the ir's like the rack version. That would be very cool. Using them in Logic is no problem of course, but sure would be nice to be able to use them in a live situation. Probably not enough horsepower in the unit. My main purpose for this is to replace my pedalboard and give me some nice clean patches via 4CM. So far so good there.

That sounds really good, how I'd like a modeler to sound. Don't mess with it too much, unless you remember all the settings.
I had a great sounding setting on my Tonelab LE, but I tweaked and messed with it and lost the sound that I had and I haven't found it exactly since.

Didn't take much tweaking really once I found that cab sim. The others are kinda funky for some reason. Setting the mid band to wide band made it pretty easy really. One bank is all Marshall type sounds, another is for the 4cm stuff. Then I'll try to get some live type settings. See what happens.
