This popped up on my YT feed this morning. Never seen or heard this before. Some cool playing on it.
Good sound for an audience recording

Another one I never heard before. This is more like the tone I heard when I saw him. Man the solo in Believer is killer on this.Good sound for an audience recording

Yeah I thought so too. Randy just seems like a kid, which at 22 / 23 yrs old he basically wasI watched most of that yesterday, was pretty well done I thought.
I’ve always liked the way they sounded too. I don’t remember any teenagers in ‘81-‘82 complaining about the tones on Blizzard and Dairy . Everyone just thought the songs were badass![]()
Because the albums were recorded in a barn in England on the cheap. They still sound fine to me.

Ed and Randy were the high gain tones of their time.I think a quarter of the people complaining are comparing it to newer, modern hi-gain tones and three quarters of the people complaining are just repeating some shit they read on an internet guitar forum.
Yes indeed . Trippy as they always went into Steal Away The Night after Revelation but not at that Germany gig , it`s also one time Ozzy didn't introduce the song in the usual "This is entitled Revelation Mother Earth , thank you". They were openers on that leg of the tour and supposedly Ozzy was really fubar at the time so that might've had something to do with itThe solo in Revelation is killer too.

Right on Schenker ! He really starts tearing it up at 3:50 here , Cozy Powells drumming is the icing on the cakeThis is a great thread, all the posts are excellent! Ed, Randy and MSG were the guys that inspired me to play. I don't really put one in front of the others, they all are great and have their own strengths.![]()
I liked this version of Over the Mountain as well. That`s a really good one from early in the Diary tour . I've had it on CDR for a while now. The version of Over The Mountain sounds way better here than the US versions in `82 where Don was doubling a lot of Randys lines
I thought they were probably opening being only 40 ish minutes. Who were they opening for?Yes indeed . I’ve read it was Saxon . Supposedly Sharon cut the tour short because was more of a mess than usualI thought they were probably opening being only 40 ish minutes. Who were they opening for?
