Trying US Food - My first Hostess Twinkie

Today I had s'mores. I would give about 2 out 10. I really didn't like it. I think the Hershey's chocolate didn't help - I really don't like that chocolate. It stinks - literally. Aside from that it was just sugary junk. I got a box of s'mores from Aldi on a whim because I've heard of them.

I'll stick to vegemite I think haha
How the fuck did you purchase a "Box of s'mores". First things first, it's not a premade product. True Smores require 4 real factors. A couple traditional graham cracker squares, a toasted (on a fire slowly) marshmallow (roasted and toasty to lava), chocolate (usually Hersheys but I use different), and an open fire. I do not wish to lay my eyes on what unholy abomination of a version you bought at "Capt Jacks Discount M8 shop" but please do not besmirch the name of a true classic.

It was Hershey's which smells like vomit due to butyric acid which is a component of vomit! A google search shows I'm not the only non-American to find the smell offensive. Graham crackers - which I've never tried but tasted like cardboard. And Marshmallows - pure sugar and promoting diabeties. It's from the US because there's no way in the world we'd ever make a package that weighs 229g. I assume that's 8 US ounces. I think maybe if you made this combination more commonly available you'd rid yourself of your excess immigration quick smart.

The purchase of the box tells the tale.

I don't see how it'd make a difference... it was just Herschey's, graham crackers and marshmallows. The only thing that could be wrong is the crackers - but they seemed fine to me albeit very bland. It's the Herschey's that has the funky smell - apart from that it was just too sweet mixed with crumbly bland crackers... I don't see where the "love and affection" comes from in regards to this combination. I had never tried graham crackers. Graham can keep them haha. I can't imagine someone into premium food like @The~Kid would think much of it

Like any food item, if the ingredients are shit, it'll be shit. The fewer the ingredients, the more true this is.
Sounds like your kit had shit chocolate, shit marshmallows and shit graham crackers.
Personally i'm not a huge fan of s'mores, only because i'm not crazy about that flavor combination. I find them just OK.
The best i've had used quality ingredients, and don't sleep on the campfire cooked marshmallows. It does make a huge difference.
You've never had graham crackers? What do you guys use for crust on your cheesecakes?

Well yeah but what Japetus posted up is hardly the quintessential American S'mores experience with Dutch cookies and nice dark chocolate
