Anyone ever try this? It has an effects loop so it’s perfect for what I want to do….

Probably works fine in madison square bedroom - on recording or jamming with a band? prolly not.

Yeah, but I only ever slaved an SVT Classic into another SVT Classic to run a second 8x10. 600 watts of tube bass power.

It was an outdoor gig.

No reason it shouldn't work fine.

There are plenty of bass amps that are basically the same as guitar amps made by the same company. Ampeg V4 and V4B amps (which were the basis for the SVT design), Matamp, and Hiwatt immediately come to mind. The main differences are tweaks to the preamp to optimize them for bass.

I've ran my 4001, via Ric-O-Sound into a pair of SVT/810 rigs. It was okay. It was better running it into an SVT and a Marshall halfstack though.

These days I'm down to a single SVT and a single 810.

It should work, but it's going to sound clean compared to guitar power amps.

I used a Peavey CS-400 solid state power amp for bass before I got my ADA rig back in the day. It was just a general , 200W, stereo / 400W bridged power amp for PA or anything that needed clean power.

Most bass power amps are going to be very clean vs guitar power amps IME. That's why PA power amps work for bass.
