I like the fatness of the KT77 on it's own, but listening back to your original mixes again I still put the KT77 mix in third place.
 Since there's only two mixes, that's pretty damning.
Cool bass iso track as well, reminded me of DD Verni there for a bit.
Thanks bro. Sometimes slapping bass strings is fun.

Clips with an NOS tung-sol "zenith" 12at7 stuck in the PI instead of the Sovtek 12ax7 that had been there:

Just the guitars with the 12at7:

Seems to open up the low end and lower the gain a bit.

Now I'll spend some time tweaking knobs. At the moment I'm not sure the 12at7 is gonna stay. Possibly, once I tweak the gain back up. It is nice to have the 77 punch without the MASSIVE boost to the low end, but that massive boost could probably be worked around by lowering resonance and bass on the amp knobs. We'll see where I end up.

I didn't listen to the clips ' I'm on a work computer with shitty speakers.
I've done my own comparisons though , I'll take and el34 any day over a kt77 . I do not like any tube JJ makes though .

12at7 you say? Heard a lot of good things about that tube, especially in the PI. I can't listen right now as I'm in the middle of a hot dog eating contest, but will check this out later.

I always dig 12AT7 and 5751 in PI for stuff like this.

Nice tone bro!

Thanks, man. I've actually got a 5751 in V1 to lower the gain and take a bit of the over-the-top grit out of the drive channel. It tends to be completely out of control on anything approaching noon with the stock tube load.
