Just curious to see what tuning we all generally use.

UPDATE: Poll Revised To Indicate String Gauge. Re-Vote Is Allowed

I can barely play in standard, so I don't venture far from there.

Standard. But, I always have one guitar tuned to drop D.

Std with 9s on my Strats, 9.5s on my LP, and 10s on my 535 (cuz it still fells slinky as hell).

Started playing lower and slower the last few months. Drop B on pretty much all guitars and bass.

Superstrat 1: drop D with 10s.
Superstrat 2: drop C with 11s, but I'm going to change it to Eb with 9s.
Superstrat 3: E standard with 8s.
Yamaha Revstar: E standard with 9s.
LP copy: Eb with 10s

I guess 10s are the minimum for dropped tuning metal huh? I tried that with 9s a long time ago and it was mushy crap. 10s have been decent so I never felt the need to try 11s.

Currently it's 10's with standard tunings on 7 strings. But I played 1/2 step down with 10's for 20 years prior when I was only playing 6 string guitars. I just didn't like the sound and feel of the 7th string lowered, my own personal taste, but I don't care for the heavy dropped low guitars, I love the mids.

im starting to like 444hz, its sounds more happy than the 440hz

10's minimum, preferably 11's for drop D or drop D flat for me, 12's for anything lower. I recently tried a set of the Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky strings again that I used years ago, to try and make leads a little easier but still have the bottom end hold together, but now I'm bending high strings out of tune when playing chords. Back to straight 11's I guess.

For me, standard tuning would is .010-.052, which is the same set I'd use for Eb or Dropped D.

D Standard is .011-.054

C Standard is .012-.056

I use the same gauge whether it's 25.5 or 24.75.

I also have a 27" baritone that I use the same .012-.056 set on. It's typically in C standard.
