I bought a Tweaker 40W 112 Combo new in November from GC and have been LOVING it. Great tone, very versatile, fits my needs to a "T". Then on January 26th it blew its' main fuse while sitting in standby mode for 20 mins between sets and now it's just dead. Replacing the main fuse doesn't help, it just blows again the second I switch it on. The tubes look fine too, no discoloration at all. I've only had the amp for three months, but didn't buy the extended coverage from GC when I bought it.

I need my amp fixed and have seen in a few other places in this forum where people have had similar issues but had problems with Egnater customer service. I have gone through the normal channels of Egnater's website for warranty issues and haven't heard anything. This morning I sent an email to an address I saw mentioned in another forum thread in hopes that might yield something.

I'm starting this thread in hopes someone might see it that help me out or give me another avenue for contacting Egnater and getting this sorted out. I wanted to start this thread separate from the others as the others were started from a very negative slant towards Egnater's customer service. I'm not here to bag on anyone, or rip anybody's business practices because I'm pretty early in the process and haven't experienced anything overtly negative from Egnater's customer service yet. So, there's no reason for me to rip them a new one in this post. I just am wary that this "might" turn into a horror story based on some of the other stuff I read.

Please help! Post if you have any ideas or advice for me on how to proceed in getting my amp up and running again.

Thanks guys.......

Just in case anyone is reading this........just from posting in this forum, I've been contacted by Egnater and a solution has been figured out. Just that quickly. I've gotta say, so far the experience of dealing with Barrett at Boutique Amps Distribution (and funny enough Bruce Egnater himself) has made this guitar player brand loyal to Egnater for sure. Great sounding amps, and so far, great people too.

Thanks so much Barrett and Bruce!

Glad to hear you are having a good experience. What wound up being the problem with your amp and how is it being resolved? Was it a blown thermister and/or bad PT?

I've had my Rebel 30 for almost 4 years, and the few issues I've had and needed to contact Egnater, I have had best luck starting here on the forum. As the OP said, after that, I was blown away at how accommodating they were for me, even when the problem involved something as simple as the fuse holder not staying in place (they sent me a handful and also a handful of fuses at no cost). When I first purchased the amp, i actually went through 2 (from GC) that were both defective, until the 3rd which is what I still own. During that time I was extremely skeptical and almost returned the second one to buy a different brand. The sound of Egnaters has ALWAYS impressed me, but the build quality had me wondering. I now chalk it up for possibly mishandling at some point between manufaturing-shipping-sales floor, or maybe just bad luck. Whatever happened with the first 2, the Rebel that I have has been a reliable tone monster! I am just about to embark on re-tubing and biasing it myself, a first for me to do on my own. With the advice of Barrett and some awesome resources online, I am going to be learning a small new skill that will save me money and time and give me the possibility to always have optimum performance. Thanks Egnater!

I'm having a power transformer issue also. I have called Egnater and followed the warranty claim form on the website and have had no contact. Very disappointing customer service!

I'm sure that's the problem I'm facing as well. Should know more next week when I take to the shop yet AGAIN.
