Wanted to run a W/D/W rig with it.
All my cabs are 16 ohm.
Using a Fractal unit into a Mesa 295 power amp.
Then a guitar amp straight into the Two Note X

Is the 16 ohm version the one to get?
And is there anything else out there at that price point?

My mind just wants to hear the W/D/W/ at this time so I could care less about the IR's and the cabs/mic placement etc.
Well, maybe down the road I'd use the other features but just want to play without turning this into a knob twisting science experiment.

And just so I am one the right track here, is the guitar amp going through all 3 cabs.?

If your amp has a 16 ohm output to match your 16 ohm cabs, then yes, the 16 ohm Captor X is the one to go.

What do you want to use the Captor X for then? Attenuation only? It works quite well as an attenuator, but there may be other less expensive solutions I guess...

In a W/D/W setup your amp usually goes only to 1 cab in the center, the other 2 will have the wet only sound from your Fractal unit.

I love my captor X. I was very tentative to make the jump to IRs because I love my cabs, but the captor really impressed me for headphone playing. The attenuator is pretty useful too.
I can’t say for sure if the higher dollar boxes sound better or not, but I can’t imagine they do more than a c-hair
The two notes software is great too. Easy to use and lets you “audition” any cab available before you buy one

Purchased one to do a W/D/W/ setup.
Ross in the Two Notes Rigtalk threads was a great help:thumbsup:
