Uberschall GAS! But would it be redundant?

I find myself wanting to pick up an Uberschall lately.

Digging the clips, dig the praise most have for them, and I did play a Rev.blue at a GC once for about a half hour. It was in the main room so I couldn't crank it up but I liked it at the time.

So here's my question, am I just being a ridiculous gear nut or could this amp bring something unique enough to my little party to justify it.

I'm currently rocking a multi-watt triple rectifier, a Framus Cobra, a Royal Atlantic and an Archon.

So is the Uberschall worth grabbing if I have to let another amp go or am I being silly?

I do like all my amps, so it's not like I NEED another amp.

Talk me in or out of this

Find an Original or Rev2 and may the force be with you.

Agreed. But a stock TJ would also kick some serious tonal ass too. You've got some sweet heads; the Bogner family does indeed offer something unique to the mix - it's just whether or not you dig that uniqueness. A rev.2?? Hell yeah, but they're hard to find (search Bogner thread for the Hitler vid...classic!!) - the TJs are a little more available and hey, if you buy used at a good price, you can always sell it for the same if you don't dig it :dunno:

Goood luck

Excellent.
The search has begun!

There is a Rev.2 on eBay but $2200 seems a bit steep. Or no?

Low end seems to be around $1800, high end in pristine condition is usually around $2200.

I really like Uberschalls all that I have heard sound great .
I had a rev blue it was great on the dirty side and just got better with volume !
My only problem was the volume drop on clean .

The volume drop is only an issue when adjusting knobs with your eyes, instead of your ears.

I run my clean channel volume up all the way and use the gain knob to set the level, works like a charm.

That's funny when I talked to Bogner he said it was an issue

I could never get clean clean loud enough to match gain level when playing loud.
Yes I could aby and use another head for clean .
But I prefer my ecstacy or Helios for most stuff I play anyway .

A clean channel on an Uberschall?? why... its a fucking 1000 Ton German tank of brutal assault damage. why the fuck are you even trying to play clean on it.

I never cared for Reinhold's amps, especially the Uberschall and the Ecstasy- yuck. I've played all of his amps and there's only one amp Reinhold made that impressed me, and that's the Shiva. It's really a one-of-a-kind guitar amp and takes stomp boxes very well.

Plus we all know that everything manufactured by Germans is phenomenal.

The Blue Revision (what you have/had) was supposed to be more balanced between channels to correct what people thought was a problem. You might have had a weak tube for the clean channel that needed replacing.

My Rev2 is my number 1 gigging amp and it works like a dream. Clean channel volume up all the way, clean channel gain used as the volume control. That's why I said ears, not eyes.

Shiva 20th anniversary..... def worth checking out. I run a TJ into an uberkab and also 20th Shiva. Both crush. Honestly think I dig the 20th Shiva more though, not sure. That amp just sounds so pissed, but of course so does the TJ. And talk about an amazing clean channel. That being said in a band situation the TJ just tears though the mix and is so damn punchy. Very articulate on fast palm mutes and stuff. Lots of killer options. I love both amps. If I had to pick one it would be the 20th Shiva though. Honestly that may be my fav amp right now.

+1 on the 20thA Sheevs... Angry lil' bitch that. Love it.

Thanks guys :)

Proud owner of a Rev.2 Uberschall!

This thing is an absolute beast!

I understand all the hype surrounding the amp and this revision in particular now.
I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but I swear this is the best high gain tone I've ever had in my life! It is jaw dropping everytime I plug in.

And what's this bullshit about it being a one trick pony?!
Sure the clean channel isn't on par with an Archon, but dialed in right, it's really damn good!
(That said, I've spent 97% of my time on the overdrive channel)

Thanks for pushing me over the edge guys! This amp rules them all!
