Uberschall question

Just got a new Uberschall..Wanted to hold out for a VH4 but couldn't quite raise all the funds now so I got a new Uberschall Rev Blue..
My question is regarding the clean channel...... There is a volume and a gain control on channel 1... The gain control does nothing except a little volume, basically the same thing as the volume control..... Shouldn't there be even a small amount of gain there?? No overdrive whatsoever... I knew you didn't get much overdrive,crunch on this amp in channel 1, but is something wrong??
Any help would be appreciated.....

Don't own the one but from what I gather about that amp...that's normal. Que the uber squad

You should be getting a little breakup as you go past 1 o'clock on the gain knob, and it does add a lot of volume the higher you go on it. You're not going to get much crunch though.

Is it a new or used amp? Check the preamp tube in V4 (if you are looking from the back of the amp, it's the one at the far right of the row of 4 preamp tubes).
