The Tyler headstock, I believe, is a big middle finger to Fender who was having issues with everyone using the Strat headstock design. They sent out cease and desists to everyone and their brother unless you got licensed. So, Jim Tyler, said FU to the establishment and made the most non-conforming headstock out there...hence the motto, "either you get it or you don't." I think it's a thing of beautiful if you know the story. This is all by memory so please forgive if it's not 100% correct...
It's definitely grown on me. I prefer traditional guitar design so the Dimebag shape, or the Explorer don't do anything for me just as Tyler headstock does to others. To each their own.
Suhr looks like the old Kramer beaks, and the Suhr hybrid headstock looks like the headstock off the old Steve Stevens Washburns.
