Most European countries have totally fucked up laws regarding air conditioners. You have to get approval by the neighbors, then the city has to approve how it looks and how often you get to use it. That's what you get in socialist countries. Europe is warming 50% faster than the rest of the world according to climate alarmists, er scientists. Let them suffer. You vote for free shit in exchange for socialism, you get what you deserve.

I think this is a great idea. Europeans should turn off all fans, close their windows, and stop using AC.

The European Commission’s headquarters was forced to shut down its air-conditioning system on Friday due to the heat wave.

Staff working at the Berlaymont building received a text at midday, reading: “BERL — URGENT — Due to extreme weather conditions, forced shut down of air cooling system from floor 1 to 7 for the rest of the day.”

The 13-story building is home to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, her 26 commissioners and about 3,000 staff. Von der Leyen works on the 13th floor, and most of her commissioners’ offices are housed on floors eight or above.

Belgium and much of Europe have been sweltering for the past week, with record-breaking temperatures.

The Commission issued guidance for its staff earlier this week, which included avoiding going outside at the hottest times of day, drinking water regularly and starting work earlier.

But the advice angered some Commission staff who work in buildings without air-conditioning, including DG AGRI, according to internal communications seen by POLITICO’s Brussels Playbook.

“It’s like feudalism,” a Commission official working on a lower level of the Berlaymont, granted anonymity to speak freely, told POLITICO on Friday, referring to the fact that upper floors housing commissioners got to keep their AC on. A second official agreed it was a “disgrace.”

A third staffer working on the 8th floor told POLITICO on Friday that even with working AC, the temperature inside was still 25.7 degrees.

Dont know where you are, but here in fla, we are bathed in it year round.

Its not an option.

I like it for the humidity control. My guitars do too.
I'd rather not have A/C and Florida go back to the way it used to be. Citrus, fishing, sponging, ranching.

I'm in TX and have split the last 20+ years in TX and FL mostly. I've lived in FL without A/C. I don't actually like A/C very much. I only run it cause the wife will whine about the heat. If you gotta pool out back and a couple good fans it's easy to manage but a lot of modern house layouts and community plans are set up based on having A/C so there is that.
 
Got a call Monday morning from the HVAC company I've been using for the last 15 years. They wanted to come over and "service" my central air unit. I've never had central air. :LOL:
I just sit in a pool of sweat and drink Maxwell House Breakfast Blend.

I used to live for those three sweaty weeks in summer up in MN. Go to the bar and have drinks and listen to music till late, walk or longboard home, and sleep on the roadside if necessary. There was a comfortable country overpass about halfway between town and home I would sometimes stop at and drink a beer after work. I hate the weather there the rest of the year.

Yeah, I hear ya.

I'm good with it being warmer, but humidity is something I prefer lower for comfort.

Was hanging out on the lanai today under the fans all day, in fact.
