Uncle Waynzo's World: Griffin Analog, the music maker and the dreamer of dreams

I gave it a little too much juice:dunno: ...... that Ethos is a serious piece of gear !
likely my fault for mentioning that i normally boost my ethos with the hermida dual drive and you were trying to get there in a single pedal.

i’ve always run a stacked/boosted pedal combo for those types of overdriven tones in my rigs.
i think it started with a dynacomp into an analogman silver modded tube screamer, then i discovered and used a barber tone press into a maxon OD820 for a few years which was a great mid gain classic “behind the scenes” rhythm tone ala vox/jtm that transitioned into bluesy fusion leads very nicely

those clips prompted a friend of mine to have his friend alf hermida very kindly reach out to me and gift me 3 of his pedals; the zendrive, dual boost, and distortion, just to provide him with feedback and use/share with others—no strings attached.

i think 5 of my gtr friends ended up buying zendrives or zen 2s because of that, one fell in love with and now owns my distortion and zendrive, but i managed to hang on to the dual boost for me!

my most recent chapter has been running a cali 76 stacked comp into the arc furnace for SRV style dirt, and the dual boost into the ethos for fusiony dumble/ boogie leads.

I have a Maxon OD-820 on my board right now that I just fixed for a forumite ...... that circuit is very close to a Klon .... really decent OD

the out of production klamac arc furnace pedal.

i was on a deep SRV od pedal tone quest for a while and after several twists and turns i eventually landed on this doohickey

the closest thing i’ve heard to it is the king tone duellist but i prefer the overall tone of the arc.

Jim also made a stripped down single channel version of his pedal called the el mo

if you SRV lovin folks ever run across one whilst scouring, you may wanna pull le trig.

yup .... that's the one ...... I liked that one as much if not more than the Ethos ... I love what it did with a " cleanish " tone ..... adds this really nice sparkle
