Understanding a plexi circuit

Hi,

I new to the world of guitar pedals and have been trying to find as much info as I can. I’ve been looking into overdrive and distortion circuits and have learnt about hard and soft clipping, symmetrical and asymmetrical, low high head room and eq. I know this isn’t necessarily something that will determine a particular tone but I’m an engineer so my curiosity is getting the better of me.

A friend has lent me a plexi pedal and I would like to know how the plexi operates in terms of the above, clipping type, headroom etc.

THanks Luca79, that's quite interesting, it doesn't quite answer the question I had ab out the overdrive pedal, but was a good explaination of the amp.
