Not much talk about it in here.

Just ordered one. Was tempted to grab a Axe-FX again for low volume playing at home. But would rather use my own amps. And now I have cash for a Diezel VH2 as well :D :D

OX clips

I came so close on this piece a few times....subscribed!

I'm with you on this....That Cameron mod and Boogie sound killer. is the OX a reactive load? I'm not familiar with the product.

Yup! Reactive load box/attenuator.

sounds good...that Marshall screams 10,000 lovers by TNT. haha

I have a live and have thought about this, i wonder how much sound difference there is between them. I have the apollo from UAD and the sims on it are great, i wonder head to head how the ox and live compare

Man I've been thinking about this one for awhile too. So @peterc52 have you ever tried a loadbox + IRs before? Curious on your opinion between that and the Ox if you have. Also are you using a Mac/Ipad to dial in anything or just using the presets? Grats btw!

All 3 sound incredible! Are you recording in the room using the ox as an attenuator or via daw?

Thanks for posting this! The Ox sounds much better than I thought, although I'm a huge fan of the UAD platform. I'm with the others who wonder how this would match up head-to-head vs the Torpedo. They both sound amazing!

I should clarify. This isn't my clips, haven't received mine yet. But the OX isn't using standard IR's like a Torpedo.

I seem to like the OX clips above Torpedo clips. I had a Torpedo Studio in the past, so we'll see :)

Still... those were the first OX clips that I've heard with heavier tones. Sounded better than I'd imagine. :)

I need to check this out tomorrow. I have hated most every “above mid gain” clip I’ve heard of the Ox. I don’t want to do the clips a disservice by listening on my phone.

I looked and read up on this when I first saw it a few months ago, but it just seemed overpriced for my needs. I have a Suhr Reactive Load and a Fryette PS2 and I just couldn't see the extra value. I guess if it was a way better widget than the 2 I have and sounded better, that'd be a difference maker, but I don't think that's the case.

Nicely done on the clips! Some amazing amps!

Love my OX! I've had it since Feb. I use the Greenback cab for the BE-50 and it sounds killer live via FOH. For the JP-2C LE, I've been using the other cab for it. I believe it has the 80 W celestion 4x12 that was on there. I used it a couple of weeks ago live at an outdoor street festival and it sounded great! UA just did an update for the unit with some changes. I am really hoping they do a V30 cab in their next update!

All around a great unit!

I see some advantages.

No need of a computer - big advantage for me. Quick setup.

No need to load a shit load of IR's. All within the unit, easy to change via iPad.

Also an attenuator. While the Fryette probably is a better one, I could see a use for it when I want to blast out with my cab.

UA's plugin that comes with the unit. Delay, Reverb and some more.

And headphone out.

Some form of "computer" is needed, though, and it doesn't seem it can be done with anything but an iOS app. Am I missing that?

True, you need to use a apple device to change the presets. But you dont need one to use the OX. You can save up to 6 presets in the unit.

Either an Ipad or a Mac notebook. Nothing else. So if you don't own one, you are practically fooked.

One thing that a lot of folks get WRONG about the OX is the statement that you are stuck with the cabs/speakers that come with the OX for recording. True, the OX does not have a specific function to load your favorite IR's from the OX, however, the OX does have a cab setting to run as direct/no-cab to your DAW. This means you can drag and drop your favorite IR loader and IR cab to the track and voila you have all of your IR's available to you when you use the OX for recording.

It’s thru DAW and monitors in the clips.
