I am looking to get a univibe type pedal. My MXR EVH Phase 90 has been tiding me over so far. I am thinking of picking up a used Voodoo Labs Micro Vibe. Then assuming I like it, I might get on the list for a Sweet Sound Mojovibe or Fox Rox Aquavibe.

Any univibe fans out there? What pedal do you have? Any Tips?

The best one made in most peoples opinion (now discontinued) was the black Stereo Fulltone DV2 Deja Vibe.

I might have one for sale though :D

Sweetsound Mojovibe, KR Megavibe or Mayer Voodoo vibe all the way! I've owned them all (except for the Tube Vibe) and these were my favs.

I have one of the sweetsound Mojovibes I just got about 2 weeks ago after waiting a while!
anyways I need to move it so I can buy something for delay! It's a great Vibe though!!!

My favorite vibe, it can get nasty and has a huge throb.

that's between you and your 4-walled bedroom.

to the OP, i have a soul vibe. i like it, sounds great.

The new Fulltone MDV2 is pretty awesome, Mike managed to fit all of the guts inside one of his Clyde wah shells and it sounds really good, runs on 9vdc as well instead of 120v ac like the DV2.

Bob Sweet gave me an Ultra II before he passed away and that thing is awesome, I love his Mojo vibe as well, its thicker than your average vibe and maybe a little more swooshy but I still really like it. 2 of my favorite vibes...

The KR megavibe is awesome and is as close to vintage as it gets. I cant say that its my favorite because my preference is for more of the updated takes on the UV

I love my Effectrode Tube Vibe as well, its really hi fi and warm all at the same time. Its a little on the large side but its a really well made pedal and Phil the owner is a great guy to deal with..

The Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe is great too and you can get alot of different sounds out of it but its on the costly side and you can bump it out of its setting too easily.

IMO, stay away from the Micro Vibe, its fake and youll get tired of it real quick

I've got an Ubervibe that I love. Not a ton of people know about this builder but he makes some great pedals. I might have to sell mine cause I need to do some car repairs. That and I mostly use the line 6 rack mod live. PM me if you're interested at all.

I have a microvibe and dig it. I don't use a whole tone of vibe but for what I need it sounds great. I would suggest using it in front of an amp and not in the loop as it tends to get a little messing in the loop.

My concern with going with an expensive Univibe at about $300+ is that I have never used a univibe in all my years of playing. If I don't use it much, it might feel like a waste. Alot of the expensive ones like the Mojovibe and Megavibe has a long wait time. I am thinking the fulltone ones won't be a deep enough vibe for what I think I want.

I have a Fulltone Deja-Vibe 2 that I love. For doing Trower type stuff, its hard to beat. Built like a tank. The sweep on the pedal takes some getting used to if you are going to be changing it in a live setting, but I usually dont change it once I find the rate I like. I have heard others that have a more pronounced "throb" to them than this one does, but cant remember who made it

The MJM 60's Vibe is the closest to the Shin Ei I've heard.
I've compared his to 2 original Shin Ei's at his house and it is spot on.
The only downside is the size, but he has a smaller version coming soon.
Other than that I liked the KR and the Effectrode.

I completely understand... GC carries the Fulltone stuff, go and play around with it. I think that the MDV 2 goes for around 250 or so and I think that the Throb is pretty ballsy but your tastes may vary. Unfortunately, there arent alot of music stores that carry a wide variety of vibes for you to plug in so theres a bit of trial and error. 30th st guitars here in NYC carries a fair amount but theyre definitely more of a boutique/specialty store that youre not going to find everywhere...

Good luck

The Voodoo Micro Vibe is cool if you just want a vibe here or there. I use Vibe sparingly, mostly for cleans, sometimes for solo effects...again sparingly and for that, the Voodoo works great. But no doubt there are much better Vibes out there, like alot are saying in this thread...for me though this is one of those cost vs. use issues's...just don't use mine enough to justify getting something else.

Now phasing...I've spent alot of bank on finding my fav phasing pedal because I use it a ton. But the Voodoo will get you there...I'm more of a fan of listening to other people use a vibe than myself.

Also check out the Sweet Sound MoFaux Vibe...i actually like this one the best to be honest...again though, I'm not a true vibe person so it might get bashed by some on here.

Do most of these vibes have the same increase in brightness when you turn them on as the microvibe? That is the one thing that I can"t stand about the microvibe.

Aloha, Rob.
